ASUS X299 Monterey/Ventura Support

Alright great. Should I have opened the existing config.plist that was in my current EFI folder and THEN do what you instructed me to do to create that serial number?

I only ask because there are things that I would think that were configured in my existing config.plist file to have v12.5 work so far. Let me know, thanks.
Yes we should open the existing config.plist in EFI partition and add serial numbers for MacPro7,1 into that file. Always good to make a backup copy of that file before modifying it.

Oh yes, of course I will do that. First I will try this with my current macOS v12.5 system and then once I try it and it works, I will do that with my beta Ventura v13.0 setup. Stupid question: would doing this help the ethernet connection work better. Again, stupid question, I'm just asking. If not, would you know why I'm only able to get some of my emails using the Mail app and still no internet using web browsers? (pic below)

Because Ethernet port is connected in Ventura, that is a good sign. It means EFI folder is okay (but enter serial numbers in config.plist).

If there is no browser access to the Internet, but the Mail app works, it means a firewall might be in effect.

Are you using third-party firewall software such as NetBarrier by Intego Software?

Is a firewall running on your router?

Do you have a WiFi/Bluetooth card? If so, what is the make/model?

Anytime I do these types of tests, I always shut off my VPN to make sure I have connection to everything. Other than that I don't have any firewall apps at all.

Also, I never use bluetooth, because I like direct connection using ethernet, as it's much faster. Also, I don't like being exposed to unnecessary EMF's (Electro Magnetic Frequencies), if I can help it.

I'm using the TP-LINK AX11000 gaming router. It's a $300 router that I bought at Costco about 12 months ago. I wouldn't know if it's using some kind of firewall or not? I'll try to see if the firewall is active or not. I mean everything's been working and connecting to the internet so far using v12.5, so I don't know how Ventura v13 can now be causing a firewall issue. Do you think it may be something that I have to adjust in Prefs > Network section?

Also, when I did what you instructed to create the serial number and moved to the EFI > OC folder, when I restarted the system it still shows Serial Number: REMOVED. Don't know why. (pic included)

I also see a new file called: oldConfig.plist. Should I delete that to see if that will work? Let me know. Thanks (pic included).

On some occasions, my router stops working after several system reboots, but it is only a matter of turning the router off and on again and everything works again.

Thanks for the input. I do have to apologize, I'm actually not directly connected to my TP-LINK AX11000, but rather my Arris router (provided by the internet company that I'm using). The AX11000 is my extended WiFi that I'm using to get better reception for anything WiFi related for our mobile phones and laptops. My main macOS system is ONLY directly connected using an ethernet cable connected to our router.

@CaseySJ - My apologies, as I mentioned to Lorengirn, I'm actually not directly connected to my TP-LINK AX11000, but rather my Arris router (provided by the internet company that I'm using). With that said, I actually did a Hard Reset and actually found and turned off two Firewalls on that router (no help from "tech support" when I called for their assistance). I had to figure it out on my own. Rebooted into Ventura beta and started my Mail app and only got 2 (out of 8 email addresses that I use), to download my emails. Again, that's weird that only 2 emails would work out of 8 email addresses? Also, ethernet is still not working at all on both ports, even though it's still showing it's "connected." I'm at least glad some progress is being made. Any other thoughts?

The Arris cable modem is connected to the TP-Link AX11000. We should then connect Hackintosh to one of the Ethernet ports on the back of the same TP-Link router as shown.

If the Arris cable modem has built-in WiFi, it would be best to turn that off and only use WiFi through the TP-Link wireless router.

@CaseySJ - "If the Arris cable modem has built-in WiFi, it would be best to turn that off and only use WiFi through the TP-Link wireless router."

The Arris router is the MAIN router that my computer (and everybody else's PC), is plugged into... and YES, WiFi is shut off on the Arris router, while the TP-Link router is plugged into the Arris and is being used for only WiFi. It's a FAR better WiFi router than my Arris.

Lastly, I had a question still about the Serial Number thing.

When I did what you instructed to create the serial number and moved to the EFI > OC folder, when I restarted the system it still shows Serial Number: REMOVED. Don't know why? Was there something else that I needed to do besides saving it in the EFI > OC folder? (pic included)

It's not necessary to delete oldConfig.plist. It would be good to do this:
  • Mount EFI partition -- and make sure only ONE EFI partition is mounted
  • Open config.plist from EFI/OC folder in the EFI disk (use OpenCore Configurator)
  • Click on the PlatformInfo --> DataHub section
  • Check if the following fields all look right (these are all new numbers I just generated for this post; yours will be different):
