[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

It would be good to check that all cables and PCIe cards are securely connected. Power cables should be checked on both sides (on PSU and on motherboard/GPU -- don't forget the GPU).
Looking at my previous post, I guess I need to get another graphics card. Does it need to be the RX580? Would the RX570 or the RX560 work? Don't need too much GPU power, just want to make sure I can drive a 4K display and play videos smoothly. Are there brands I should stay way?

If I put in a new card, do I need to change the OC configuration or re-install Big Sur? Thanks!

Fortunately both RX570 and RX560 are plug and play compatible. No changes of any kind are needed.

Anyone on here use BigSur 11.6.1 with Adobe Premiere? Having some trouble with the Graphics not showing up but was wondering if thats a software issue or hardware. Thanks!
Even tho’ I loath to use Premiere, I am forced to use it from time to time, and although I’ve since gone back to Catalina on the Designare, PP worked fine in Big Sur, and works fine on a z390m system on Big Sur.
What do u mean “graphics” problems?

When using a DAW(Logic, Cubase), I see an uneven CPU load. There's always one core that is loaded much more than the others, and if this core peaks I hear a glitch. That's the way the DAW software is designed at the moment.
So I would like to have one core running as fast as possible when loaded, and the others not so much to avoid unnecesary high temps.

If you have a PC, there's lots of stuff that can (and should be adjusted) in the BIOS with a clear result on DAW use.

Does anyone have an idea how does works on our hacks? I tried adjusting BIOS settings(hyperthreading, speedstepping, EIST etc are a bad idea using a DAW), but they don't seem to have a clear effect.
Results(glitches at a certain load) are more or less the same whatever the settings.

Where do the BIOS settings stop and MacOS takes over?

Anyone found optimal settings for DAW use with a Z390 Designare board?

An amazing new development has occurred thanks to @Inqnuam and the new HackinDROM 2.1.0 (or newer) application available from GitHub. We can easily update OpenCore on any system that already has OpenCore 0.6.6 or newer. No need for mini-guides from now on unless some significant change justifies a mini-guide.
  • This works on Intel and AMD Hackintoshes.
  • This works with Broadcom and OpenIntelWireless drivers.
  • Download the latest HackinDROM, version 2.1.0 or newer, from GitHub by clicking here.

  • If this is your first time using the new HackinDROM 2.1.0 or newer app, PLEASE HAVE EITHER A BOOTABLE BACKUP DISK or COPY EXISTING EFI FOLDER TO EFI PARTITION OF A USB FLASH DISK. This allows you to boot into the system if the update fails for any reason.
After downloading and installing the app (by copying it to the Applications folder), simply do the following:
  • Mount EFI partition containing OpenCore 0.6.6 or newer, then right-click in the area shown:

  • You will see an Update pop-up button. Simply click on it.

  • That's it! Now sit back and enjoy the fireworks... :)

  • Reboot. When OpenCore boot picker appears, look at the bottom right corner to see the OpenCore version number.

I would have my premiere up with previous projects but my Program and Source screens all come up blank. I originally thought it was BRAW plugin issue but my ProRes or even a H264 would not show. Then PP will freeze and have to force quit the whole thing. I tried Davinci today and everything works well here. Looking like a Adobe issue.
