X299 - Open Core support

2 questions:

1. Is there any required order on the SSDT's in the config.plist? Right now, SSDT-X299-TB3HP.aml is 4th and SSDT-X299-Vega64.aml is 5th (last).
2. Would flashing the Titan Ridge possibly fix this cold-plugging problem? I know it is challenging....
3. Does the SMBios MacPro7,1 that you use have any advantages over iMacPro1,1 that I have used so far?

1. Possibly but from what I can tell devices need a warm boot to function. So it might be the same.
2. They are pretty similar but it’s just nice to have a Mac Pro smbios. IMac Pro is closer to x299 though
3. Also you probably don’t need the Vega ssdt. It’s outdated and is not needed

Well it is up and running @djlild7hina thank you for setting me straight, without the bios patch for now
seems like everything that i need is working, thunderbolt says there are no drivers in system profile but my OWC thunderbay 6 and all the disks in it work just fine.

obviously not having my 5Gig Ethernet or wifi kinda sucks but not a big deal

i'll work the usb stuff later but for now I am a Happy camper

Very cool! get a macOS compatible wifi/bt pcie card (if your x1 slots arent disabled) or you could replace the builtin one with something like this

You can use kgp’s thunderbolt ssdt for hotplug support but I’ll need a copy of your ioreg to adapt.

with respect to the built-in wifi on these asus x299 boards: i think the m.2 connector for these cards is under the shroud that covers the I/Os, right? can that shroud be easily removed so that you can swap the intel card (or whatever it is) with one of the broadcom cards that is natively supported by OSX?

Yes, I believe the screws are on the backside of the board. This should be the same size as the intel built in

or you can try the beta intel drivers. Although handoff and other things arent supported yet

I'm still studying all I need to start as independently as possible, but I’m not understanding something about DSDT and SSDT. If I get two motherboards of the same model (in my case sage/10G) on each of which I mount different cards, if I dump the respective DSDT’s I’ll get the same DSDT or two different?

OK. Thanks for the help. Seems to otherwise be working like a charm. I will take requiring hot-plugging over no hot-plugging anytime! A couple more questions:

1. When you flash the Titan-Ridge with real mac-like firmware, does it, by chance, start to read TB1 drives like a real mac, or does it still require an Alpine-Ridge or real Mac to do that? I have an Alpine-Ridge card that seems to be dead......I used to use it to read the TB1's, but now no dice.
2. Is there anything to do to possibly rehab this Alpine-Ridge? It is not reading in Windows or MacOS and it is not even showing up for a firmware update in Windows.
3. You mention that the vega ssdt is outdated. Is anyone using this VGTab method anymore to control the vega 64 overclock/fans, etc?: [TOOL] VGTab: Control your Vega in macOS without flashing the vBios
