[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

YES SIR!
I'm working to offer an option to change the device name etc. with one click!

if anyone has knowledge about Javascript please let me know, I have a problem with str.replace

Would it be possible to add options to remove the device name so the length is 65 like on real macs? Also to specify the thunderbolt bus for users with multiple thunderbolt cards? Thanks!

It's not necessary to remove device name from the end of DROM. Also, a DROM length of 65 is not set in stone. We have not seen any issue using custom device and vendor names.

So if I want to change my device name to "CASEEEEEEEEEEEEEY IS THE BEEEEST WOWO TEST" can I?

my question is, can I write more hex than the original quantity?
As they say "garbage in, garbage out"! ;). In other words, all of us should try to write clearly and completely. Unfortunately, too many posts in this thread would get an F from a 5th grade English teacher.

The answer to your question is yes; we can make the Vendor and Device strings longer, but we should not make them too long. The theoretical limit is 0xFF or 255, but we should keep each string less than 30 characters.

P.S. I'm not picking on you. Just trying to appeal to everyone to state problems or questions clearly and completely.

Let's keep it simple right now. The only thing we need is:
  • Step 1: Menu to select a motherboard or PCIe card
  • Step 2: Show user a new SSDT with randomly generated UID
Then user can copy/paste the file into MaciASL and save it as ACPI Machine Language (.aml) and install it into Clover or OpenCore.

Yes sir!
In the week-end ill deliver a version with all motherboards and PCIe cards.

Can you explain (with screenshots if possible) what is the method to calculate checksum after vendor and device name changing please?

Vendor and Device name changers are ready!

Hi @CaseySJ ,

I'm curious if we can add Gigabyte GC-Titan Ridge 2.0 to Z390 Designare or X299 Designare for 2 more TB3.
Do I need to plug in TB3 header? If I don't flash the firmware and simply use SSDT for HP, things should be smooth?

Is there a separate TB header on the Designare?

Edit: just looked at the manual: no spare TB header so no way to put a TB card me think...

@CaseySJ @joevt et al.

Here it is! GC-Titan Ridge Version 2.0! Attached is the freshly ripped firmware. Worked a long day so all I have done is open it, take pictures, and ripped the firmware from the blue chip. Have at it!

My impression is header is 'not' necessary but I'm not sure...
