[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

More weirdness: USBInjectAll.kext 0.75 doesn't work for me. USB is dead. 0.73 is fine, except for the recurring low power problem,

Any ideas?

I definitely lost high current charging :(

Will upgrading to a newer BIOS(using F6 now) maybe fix this? Anyone having perfect USB behaviour?

In additional to VirtualSMC, we need:
  • SMCProcessor.kext
  • SMCSuperIO.kext
If you have Hackintosh kexts in /Library/Extensions on Mojave, please check if these are already present there.

No. I have kept them all in .../Clover/Other/ folder for a long time. Will check just to make sure.
Thanks for all your replies!

Are you running Mojave or Catalina?

If you're on F4, I would suggest going to F7 (latest old UI) or F9b (latest new UI).

Can you add -v boot flag to the NVRAM section of your OpenCore config.plist and see where the system hangs?

the -v bootflag is there - nothing shows on boot, just the Apple icon

Have you tried clearing NVRAM at the Picker?

Boot settings are stored in both NVRAM and config.plist, but those in NVRAM seem to take precedence. So it's good to clear NVRAM.

I put these back in Clover\Other and rebooted, to no avail. Still GFX readings are stuck.

Dumb question, but do you mind me asking why you use an AIC thunderbolt card when the Z390 has Thunderbolt 3 built in?

Some use it for the dual DP passthrough, I use it for my older rig, my Z390 is fine the way it is, right now, regarding that you're right.

For me, the cross flashed NVM 33 has given me the best results. I have experienced some bugginess- every once in a while my caldigit TS3 dock is not detected. In this scenario, what I believe has happened is the GC-Titan Ridge has locked up. When this has happened I can disable TB in bios, save, exit, then re-enable TB in bios. Then all returns to normal. That seems to be an issue that is not happening as much as before when I initially flashed. In fact it has been two days since it’s happened. Maybe I’ve finally dialed in the right settings-time will tell. My only known limitation is I’m not able to pass dual monitors over TB. For me, NVM 33 is the only firmware that enables 1 monitor over thunderbolt. My second monitor remains plugged into gpu. Unmodified firmware allows both monitors to work over 1 TB port. Even my old TB1 GoFlex carriage works- just gives me an error after it’s ejected and then I pull the cable. Minor issue since I still use it as a bootable backup, which still works!

Thanks for your insight. Guess I'll begin flashing NVM33 then.
