[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hey Casey,

Unfortunately, it did not solve my issue !
Can you tell me if it's not too complicated to have a dual boot.
I have 2 differents m2 drives 1Tb each so what should I do to install windows 10 on the second, do I need to make something special with clover. The only guides I've found is for installation on the same drive but I have 2 so 2 EFI...
thanks
Please see the following spoiler in Post #1. It is a requirement to physically remove macOS NVMe SSD before attempting to install Windows. The spoiler contains other important information.

That is not a wrong configuration. It's perfectly okay to use 0x3E9B0007 with iGPU enabled while also using an AMD discrete GPU.

VirtualSMC is an alternative to FakeSMC. It's newer and under active development. Also supports fan speed and voltage monitoring.
Thanks for your reply.
I was asking for the .efi component does. The .kext is certainly needed if chosen over FakeSMC. But the .efi?

Hi, thanks for answering

· I tried to connect to differents WiFi network, 3 of them work as they should, but my main WiFi network at home does not connect.

· Other devices, like my mobile phone or other hackintosh computers are working on that WiFi network, so yes, my main WiFi network works on other devices.

· Info trying one WiFi network that works:
RRSI: -56 dBm
Noise: -80 dBm
Tx Rate: 73 Mbps

I think the problem is not a poor signal.

I've done your "Other Suggestions" and everything remains the same.

Thanks!
Some other suggestions:
  • Is your SSID available at both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz? If so, do both of them fail to connect?
  • Try disabling Bluetooth temporarily, then connect to your primary WiFi. Does it help?
  • Have you installed SSDT-DESIGNARE-Z390-NO-CNVW.aml in the CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder?
  • Also try moving the Fenvi to the bottom long slot. Be sure to shutdown and flip power switch on PSU to OFF before doing this.

Any Idea how to adapt OSY thunderbolt files to RP21 and save them to asl? I get an error. I was able to put OSY firmware onto my Alpine Ridge and as long as things are plugged in @ boot they work even the EGPU with icon so it is running native. However, once they are ejected they are gone. I tried a good amount of different SSDT with no luck on the alpine ridge. The one that is working on my Titian ridge does not work with the alpine ridge. I use Opencore and had the SSDT files added the naming looked correct so it is kind of working. Thanks in advance!

VirtualSmc.efi implements the AppleSmcIo protocol (UEFI protocol). SMC is the System Management Controller that controls and monitors cooling fans, temperature zones, voltages, etc.

This capability is now built into OpenCore, but not into Clover.

Clover:
  • If using VirtualSMC.kext, we also use VirtualSmc.efi.
  • VirtualSmc.efi may not be strictly necessary, but to get the most out of VirtualSMC.kext, we install VirtualSmc.efi.
OpenCore:
  • Current version of OpenCore (OpenCore.efi) incorporates VirtualSmc.efi so it's no longer needed when we use VirtualSMC.kext.

If you post the current OSY SSDT and also a copy of your motherboard's DSDT, I should be able to tell you what to change. The motherboard DSDT is easy to obtain. Just run MaciASL and select File --> New from ACPI --> DSDT.

I am not really sure how to get their files they are here:

But mine is attached.

Because you've flashed the GC-Alpine Ridge, it's not necessary to use the SSDTs in that link. Those SSDTs are an alternative to the modified firmware. Have you tried adapting any simple Thunderbolt SSDT such as SSDT-TBOLT3.aml from DSM2.

If not, I can adapt one, but will require a screenshot of IORegistryExplorer showing root level nodes of the Thunderbolt device tree.

RP21? & Down? on the screen shot? should it be with the alpine ridge in the system and with no thunderbolt 3 SSDT? Attached is the SSDT I am using with the Titian. I know this one has the same name as DSM2 however, I think it had a different name I just made it this because that was what was already in my config.

I thought the ones that said native were the ones needed my bad.

If you have two Thunderbolt cards they will each appear under a different Root Port (the "RP" in RP21 is Root Port). If unsure which card is in which root port, it would be better to upload the IOReg file (IORegistryExplorer --> File --> Save As...).
