Apple Finally Buying AMD CPUs?

You are basing your speculation on Failings, I am basing my speculation on a company that gave up! When I miss my landing by 2 feet and case a jump my boys are like dam dawg at least you are trying. If I peddle around the jump my boys are like dam dawg your a pussy. AMD just gave up they did not even try to keep going new leadership or not they have a history of giving up.

If AMD gave up, how are they on par with Intel today???

If AMD gave up, why is Intel trying to catch up???

If AMD gave up, how are they gaining market share???

Maybe you're thinking of Cyrix?

AMD tried and "missed the landing" with K8, K10, and Bulldozer. They got back on and tried again with Zen. Why does Intel get the benefit of the doubt while AMD doesn't? Shouldn't we be like "damn dawg, at least you tryin'!"

No way Cyrix made a killer coffee mug warmer -

Just because someone came back after 10 years does not mean they did not give up!

When they have grown their market share to 51% come talk to me about market share!

And for all the hype behind AMD new chips people did not jump on board and instead decided to stick it out with intel!

AMD loves to try and be the leader but at ever push to over take Intel, they have fallen short at the end of the race. In the past 40 years AMD has made at least 4 attempts to overtake intel and then for some reason they just give up.

5 years of failure / 40 years of giving up.

If they gave up, we wouldn't be talking about them now.

Not 51% yet, but 40% isn't bad... But getting there...

You can't give up for 40 years. If you give up, you don't exist anymore and can't give up a second time.

Giving up trying to innovate is not quitting it is giving up. This chart is perfect example of what I am saying look at it AMD was making a run at Intel. Then they dropped a press release that said we are no longer going to compete in the CPU market. It was like someone at intel told AMD to take a dive. You can continue to do something even after you have given up. That I why so many people are unhappy with their jobs.

As I said, the K8, K10, and Bulldozers were failures that for some reason you won't forgive them for but you so easily accept Intel's failings of the last 5 years...

So we are only talking about the consumer side we are not talking about the server market? Since we both know that's where you would have to hit intel to really hurt them.

How many of us will be buying Epycs or Xeons?

I said I am glad they are trying, I just worry they will stop trying again.

If you look at their roadmap, they already had 5nm planned since last year and Zen 3 (7nm+) is on schedule for this year. I don't see any giving up. I see them pushing harder on the accelerator pedal.
