[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I'm running Mojave 10.14.6 on my Hack. And Yes that's exactly it. I can successfully render footage via Handbrake, but not via Silverstack. Do you think it has something to do with the 590?
This might be due to iGPU configuration if Silverstack is trying to use the transcoding functions of Intel QuickSync. Feel free to post your config.plist but remove serial numbers from SMBIOS before posting. Keep the original unmodified file safe.

Friends,
I am trying to update to 10.15.3 from 10.15.2 using the downloaded setup method. I boot from Macos Install from clover boot menue and it gets stuck at the screenshot below. I still can boot from my macos disk but its 10.15.2. Can anyone help what am I doing wrong. ?
The update from 10.15.2 to 10.15.3 usually takes 3 reboots. After each reboot it is necessary to select the correct boot volume from Clover Boot Menu.

Which boot volume are you selecting after each reboot?

Hi CaseySj,
I select the boot from MacOs install volume and on the first boot itself it stays stuck at this screen, indefinitely ( tracked to 40 mins and then rebooted )

@CaseySJ:

Just a quick return to Thunderbolt:

For years now, I have had X299s with Thunderbolt, and have always had the frustration of Hot Plug not working no matter what I tried. If I wanted it to work, I had to connect the device before boot.

But, not anymore -
On Clover only (doesn't work on OC, sadly), if I load this efi, and this .aml, I get hot plug. I, like many others, would like to see TB working on every computer and board that supports it, but of course, I really want it working fully on my X299 board.

Here are the two files:

If I load these two, only in Clover, for the first time, and something I can count on working every time I've tested it, I get hot plug on an X299 system (with the Titan Ridge card).

Maybe this will help someone?

Hello @vinneesh

This might indicate an issue in config.plist. Please post the config.plist from EFI partition of the macOS SSD, but remove serial numbers from SMBIOS before posting. Save the original unmodified file.

@CaseySJ Thanks for the reply.

I attached config plist. I am planning to check iMacPro 1,1 also, but heard it doesn't support Coffee Lake native power management.

Hello @mm2margaret,

We do currently have reliable Thunderbolt hot-plug capability on the Designare Z390 with the use of:
  • GPIO3 Force Power enabled in BIOS (hence TbtForcePower is not required).
  • Slightly adapted version of KGP's SSDT-TB3HP.
However, we are now trying to take Thunderbolt to the next level by attempting to activate full Thunderbolt Local Node and Thunderbolt Bus. This is a much tougher problem to crack as I'm sure you can see by reading our interim updates. It might require a combination of SSDT and Firmware patching, but at this point we're still attempting (and hoping) to find a solution based only on SSDT.

Please note the error in screenshot. You may simply make the change as shown and reboot.

Having it working on the Z390 platform is great. Having it work reliably on the X299 platform has been spotty, at best. For me, this is the first time it's ever worked reliably on any of my X299 systems.

I certainly hope you can take it further and will be very interested to see how that work goes.

Question about Native NVRAM method.
When I make the USB drive as instructed (MSR EFI) this drive has no EFI partition. Nothing seen by Clover Config or Hackintool. Tried several times using instructions on page #432. Obviously doing something stupid
