[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Both USB-C (Thunderbolt) ports should work with 2K monitors. The 144Hz monitor is also not a problem because the maximum refresh rate will be limited to 60Hz from the iGPU.
  • Which USB-C-to-DisplayPort cable are you using? Do you have a link to it?
  • Is the cable rated for 4K 60Hz (DisplayPort 1.2 standard)?
  • Do you have any 1080p or 1440p monitors?
Also try generating and installing the following patch:

After making all the settings shown above, click the Generate Patch button. Then select File --> Export --> Bootloader config.plist. If your EFI partition is not mounted, Hackintool will do it for you. Then select your existing config.plist from the EFI/CLOVER folder. NOTE: the filename will be grayed out, but click on it anyway. Hackintool will backup the existing version before inserting the patch.

Then reboot and try again.

- I have 2 monitors 1440p 144hz(dell 2716dg).
- This is my actual hackintool:

Please try the attached CLOVER folder.

I tried the attached Clover folder, and I am still getting the same issue after hitting "set up later" under iCloud information. It goes to grey screen for about 3 mins then shuts down and reboots. It only shows a quick frame of "terms and conditions" then goes grey.

@CaseySJ do you believe this could be software based with my install or my GPU? Do you think it would be easier to set SMBIOS to 19,1 and BIOS to iGPU and see if I can finish install or would config file need to be adjusted more than that?

  1. You're using Platform ID 0x3E920000, but you should be using 0x3E9B0007.
  2. You're using SMBIOS iMacPro1,1 which uses Intel Xeon processors (no iGPU). Have you tried using iMac18,3 or iMac19,1?
Try #1 first by itself. If it does not help, then try both #1 and #2 together.

Well Sir, I am back to Zero again not able to boot from SSD and not from bootable USB. I am getting this message while booting from USB ,and from ssd I am getting this screen:
  • Which memory fix driver are you using?
    • OsxAptioFixDrv.efi
    • AptioMemoryFix.efi
    • OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi
This will be in the EFI partition of USB and SSD:
  • CLOVER/drivers/UEFI folder if using Clover 5xxx
  • CLOVER/drivers64UEFI folder if using Clover 4xxx

It may be easier to go through this final step by using the iGPU instead. To do so, simply use the attached config.plist but note the following:
  • It uses iMac19,1
  • It enables iGPU video ports (HDMI and the two DisplayPorts/TB3)
  • It uses a completely different serial number (due to switchover to iMac19,1)
  • IGPU needs to be enabled in BIOS
If you try this config.plist and want to go back to iMacPro1,1 later on, simply use this config.plist to complete the installation wizard, but do not sign in to iCloud.

P.S.
I ordered an AMD RX 5700 XT that's arriving later today. It will take a handful of days to perform a fresh Catalina install. If all goes well I'll update the Catalina Mini-Guide.

The fact you’ll be adjusting the mini guide is awesome. What 5700 XT did you get? Mine is a “Gigabyte” but I hear the Sapphire is easier supported.

mai you’re mentioning adjust my config to the one provided, change BIOS to iGPU then adjust back to old config after install.

I'm not gunna lie if this doesnt work. I’m going and buying a RX 560 to finish the install, and then drop in the 5700 XT after install, if that’ll work?

I ordered the PowerColor Red Dragon because:
  • Very good thermals, noise and core/game/boost clocks. Not the top, but well respected by most reviewers.
  • Size. It's only 2 slots wide instead of 2.5 and relatively short both horizontally and vertically.
  • I already have a couple of PowerColors (Red Devil RX 580s) that are working very well with Hackintosh.
In addition to changing BIOS, please remember to physically remove the RX 5700 XT.

I think standalone with iGPU is worth trying and should have a good chance of succeeding. You may not need agdpmod=pikera.
