[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

10.15.1 / f8

Issue is no sleep. Everything else works. Had decided I didn’t care if sleep didn’t work.
Set monitor to turn off at 15 minutes and cleared everything else in energy saving except power nap. Why I left power nap on I can’t remember.
It sleeps, wakes, and sleeps again properly.
I don’t know why.

I recommend it to everyone who is unable to enable IGPU on F8.
Put the bios configuration that I already made available 2 pages ago, I'm sure it will work.

Hello!

I just finished my first working hackintosh, big thanks to this very helpfull guide thread, Thank you so much! (before was a failed attempt on thinkpad t430).

My machine current status are working smoothly running only with IGPU for the graphic device. But I have a problem with my Cintiq 16 pro, it only have thunderbolt 3 as a display input and data, it display image no problem at 4K 60hz, but the wacom driver not recognize the tablet for pen and touch functions. Any suggestion for my tablet to working properly?

Thank you~

I tested this and it did not work in my case.

The problem is exactly that. Switch to compute mode.

I switched mine to compute mode today to see if it runs cooler and more stable, but I noticed that in compute mode, I have to enable CSM to boot. I can't get any video/boot at all if I set it to compute mode with CSM disabled. I'd rather not have to enable that.

I have the 11265-05-20G OC Sapphire Pulse RX580.

When using OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 we must also add slide=0 to Clover Configurator --> Boot Arguments.

Thanks @CaseySJ I do have slide=0 set. I also have shikigva=60, from your thread - which I understand is correct for FCP and other pro apps using iGPU for some encoding tasks. Am attaching config.plist

As always, thanks for your help.

I did the update without looking before if it was safe, and when I got that black screen after the instal I got scared. For the people who are in the same situation, the solution is easy !

When you are at the clover menu after starting your computer, go in the config and add this to the boot config arguments :

"agdpmod=pikera"

You should be able to get rid of that black screen and log into your machine. The next step will be to update those 4 kext :

- Lilu
- WhatEverGreen
- AppleALC
- VirtualSMC (if you use this instead of fakeSMC)

After you downloaded the files, check where you have those files and update them with those new ones. It should be in CLOVER/kexts/Other from your EFI folder that you can mount with Clover Configurator and /Library/Extensions. After you updated the files in those locations, dont forget to run the application "Kext Utility" to rebuild permissions in the /Library/Extensions folder. If you reboot now you should be able to log as smoothly as before.

what can be the reason that clover doesn't load the kext files put into /CLOVER/kexts/Other
I have in my system I try to build, the Network Kext and it doesn't load it / start the NIC.

Hello @azalanz,

If you are still using the i9-9900K (not the KF), then please try the following:
  1. Copy the attached config.plist to the EFI partition (CLOVER folder) of your macOS SSD.
  2. Power down the system and flip power switch on PSU for 10 seconds. This performs a soft CMOS reset that forces the firmware to rescan all buses for devices.
  3. Set BIOS --> IGFX --> Enabled.
  4. Do you still get boot errors?
    • If so, please provide (a) screenshot of /Library/Extensions folder and (b) screenshot of CLOVER UEFI/drivers or drivers64UEFI folder.
    • You may also want to perform a full CMOS Reset by shorting 2 designated pins on motherboard with a flat head screwdriver (please see procedure in Designare user's manual). This will set BIOS parameters to factory defaults, so please configure them again prior to booting macOS.
