[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I got an information about RAM.
We can just Kingston RAM order.

Are there any working Kingston HyperX memory with this Motherboard?

My second question: Can i search just in this thread? If i can, how? :)
Don't worry too much about RAM! If your RAM meets these criteria, it should work:
  • DDR4 desktop module
  • XMP 2.0 compliant
  • 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB modules
    • You can use 1, 2, 3, or 4 of these modules.
    • Best to buy DIMMs in pairs, so buy 2 or 4 modules.
  • But avoid 32GB modules at this time.
To search only in this thread, do this:
  • Start by viewing the thread itself.
  • Then scroll the website to the very top.
  • You will see the magnifying glass icon. Click on that.

gotcha! Is there a guide/post you can point me to? I’m not sure how I can update my Mac OS X at this point... sorry and thank you!

also thank you to everyone else for the inputs!
  • Do you plan to update to Catalina?
    • If so, you can change your SMBIOS to iMac19,1 after you upgrade to Catalina.
  • In order to upgrade to Catalina, make a full Mojave backup first.

EDIT:
@randompurplehippo I'm at the same stage as you (everything works with my RX 480) but I want to use my iGPU also ...

To make it worked, I have to set IntelGFX to 0x12345678 (of course no accelerated video). 0x3E928086 or 0x0 doesn't work.

@CaseySJ any suggestions ?
We should remove IntelGFX (just leave it blank) and instead, just following this guide:

I plan to upgrade to Catalina, but I’m unsure how to get back into Mac OS X from this error. Is there a way I can edit the config file from clover? I can’t get back into OS X, so I’m very lost...

thank you very much again!!!

Some one with this problem ?
My machine is Z390 Designer / 9900K NVME 970evo plus. I use SMbios 19,1.
I make update from 10.14.6 to 10.15.0
I already make firmware update to NVMe, and, untill now, there is no problem.

Sorry to see that problem.
  • Do you have a backup of your Mojave system before installing Catalina?
  • If so, does Disk Utility confirm that the backup disk is okay?

Quick question. If I were to install Windows 10 on a SATA-drive instead of an NVMe-drive.
Will the same problem with the EFI-folder on NVMe M2M still occur?
The problem should not occur in this case. Remember to physically remove macOS NVMe drives and disconnect any other SATA drives before starting to install Windows.

Removing NVMe drives can be inconvenient, but they will prevent Windows from being installed.

Sorry to see that problem.

NO I not have backup.. but system not start to install. I start update direct from appstore. and 1 restart .. I boot install partition and give error msg , I try to repair partition direct from installation and give me this msg..
I don't know how to fix problem.. right now I boot back Mojave and work perfect.

Although I haven't tried this myself, you could quickly try this:
  • At the Clover Boot Menu, select Options.
  • Then edit Boot Arguments by adding this to the end:
    • -no_compat_check
I am not at my Hackintosh right now, but I do believe there is a way to modify SMBIOS from Clover Options. Look at all the choices there and see if you can figure it out...

Because you can boot back into Mojave, you should immediately get a spare SSD that is big enough to make a full backup. This should be your #1 PRIORITY.

What’s going on with Clover. What v. should we be using?
There are several forks of Clover on GitHub. Because I have not used any of them, I suggest sticking with the standard version from either TonyMac website or SourceForge.

Update: Clover downloads have indeed moved to GitHub.
