[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hello @BangkokLee, where is this config.plist from? Is it from the USB install disk or the Mojave SSD? There are numerous inconsistencies between it and the Guide, so I'm puzzled by the statement that you "followed [my] instructions to the letter".

I would like to have you re-review the spoiler labeled Final Steps in Post-Installation. You will see that the ACPI settings, boot settings, Kernel and Kext Patches, SMBIOS, etc. are all inconsistent. Please fix these issues first and then we'll check other elements in the CLOVER configuration.
It's from the Mojave SSD. Maybe I was editing the wrong config.plist by accident in Clover? Sorry about that, I'll get my act together and update the post...

Hey guys,

How would I modify the "disable GPU in slot two" SSDT to disable for slot one?

Thanks!

Couple of background questions:
  • Which version of macOS? 10.14.6?
  • Is this a brand new installation or was it working previously, but not anymore?

Its 10.14.6, and its a recently installed new rug. It was working previously, and I am also facing one more issue.

If I turn off the LED for long period of time, I am getting no signal on the screen even after pressing any key on keyboard, and this can only be fixed when I unplug the HDMI cable from RX 580 and plug it back again.

Please helP me with the fix for this also.

1600/1700 might be the max for a PCIe 2.0 x4 connection (or PCIe 3.0 x2). What computer/motherboard? What slot? What SATA controller?
@joevt I use the Z390 and the 5 SATA ports of the board itself. Thanks

So I found something interesting today. I moved my Hack over from a Corsair rm850x to a Corsair hx1200i. The he 1200i has a USB link so under Windows you can see power draw, and other such interesting pieces of data. Under MacOS, the data stream coming in to the USB port from the Power Supply will keep your machine from sleeping. Basically the system will go to sleep, and then bounce right back awake again.

Something else I found interesting today. I tried (becauseI had it on hand for another build) an Add-In-Card Titan-Ridge Thunderbolt 3 card. I tried installing this card in my HAck to see what would happen, would the machine see it, configure it, or would it ignore it. Well from what I could see, the card was simply ignored. I was half expecting the Designare board to see the card and make it’s ports available....

In Post #6426, fabrik reported this problem with Corsair power supplies. A couple of additional users have also reported this problem. At this time we're not aware of any solution for macOS other than to disable that port in the USB SSDT (or disconnect the USB cable). If you'd like to try disabling the USB port, please run IORegistryExplorer, scroll the tree on left side to XHC, then expand both HS11 and HS12, and post a screenshot. I can subsequently provide a modified USB SSDT.

JayShay reported this issue in a recent post in this thread in which both the Titan Ridge and Alpine Ridge add-in cards will work only in a DisplayPort-to-Thunderbolt passthrough capacity. But because the Designare Z390 does not have a THB_C header on the motherboard, the actual Thunderbolt capabilities of those cards will not work.
