[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@mango1122

I've tried using your EFI, everything seems to work fine, but two things I had problem with, maybe it might help me:

1. loading a RAID 0 (internal) SSD, using SoftRaid, loads but takes 1 to 2 minutes to appear, it seems to take a while to load.
2. The preview of images does not work, it gets stuck, it only works correctly if you enable bios to intel hd.

Make sure you're using the right config.plist. There are 2 in the clover folder. I am able to boot in and use the preview. Screenshots

Howdy beautiful people,

I am relatively new to the Hackintosh scene. I have run into some problems with my hack. I have followed the guide exactly.

Specifically everything works but these:
- Thunderbolt does not work at all. Included USB-C, adapters, and any of my audio interfaces.
- USB 3.1 Gen 2 header, specifically HS01/SS01 is not working at all.
- Vega 64 H.264 and HVEC acceleration not present (according to VideoProc).

When I plug anything into these ports (thunderbolt + USB-C SS01), they don't even supply power to anything connected.

Again, I am new to the scene, so I will try my best to be resourceful. The lively community gives me hope my issues will be fixed! :)

I have attatched a zip with screenshots of clover, my EFI folders, and my config.plist among other things.

EDIT:
I should also say I am not using the 9 Pin USB Splitter 1-to-2.
The rest of my setup is as follows:
- Gigabyte Designare z390 Rev 1.0 BIOS F6 (configured as per guide)
- 9900k
- Vega 64 (installed in PCIE x16 slot 2 and connected via DP port)
- TridentZ 64GB 3200Mhz
- 1tb Samsung 960 Pro
- BCM94360 Wifi card (Installed in last PCIe x1 slot. This is what's plugging into the only USB 2.0 header on Mobo). Specifically this model: https://www.osxwifi.com/product/pc-...94360cd-802-11-a-b-g-n-ac-with-bluetooth-4-0/
- windows installed on another SSD
- NZXT H440 case

I will also note that before phase 2 installation and post installation, I did see the Thunderbolt controller/modules in the PCI and Thunderbolt tabs in About This Mac (although I didn't actually test them). Now, after installation, they don't even show up at all.

EDIT 2:
I have just double checked my BIOS setting, and it seems like at some point during installation it reset to default settings. I am not sure why.

I now changed the BIOS settings to reflect the guide, and now the Thunderbolt bridge appears in PCI in About This Mac. I double checked my config.plist and reran KextUtility.

Thunderbolt 3 devices now are shown in PCI tab only if I boot with them (no hot swap). However, even though they now appear in PCI tab, they still do not work. I have tried LG 5k, Apollo Twin via TB2 adapter, USB-C dock, USB-C flash drive. None work. And the front USB-C header HS01/SS01 still does not recognize or power anything.
Thanks for posting the screenshots.
  • Clover 6: You've set IntelGFX to 0x12345678, but this field should be empty.
  • Clover 7 and ACPI-Patched: Because you have installed the custom USB SSDT, it becomes necessary to disable the 4 USB port limit patches in the Clover 7 screenshot.
  • ATM 3: The Thunderbolt section will always say No drivers are loaded as already mentioned in the guide. You can safely ignore this page.
If BIOS parameters are correctly set, please download and run IORegistryExplorer and select File --> Save As... to save the IOReg data. Upload the file.

Please post the following files so we can expedite a diagnosis of your system:
  1. Compress and upload the CLOVER folder from EFI partition of your Mojave SSD. You may remove serial numbers from SMBIOS section of Clover Configurator.
  2. Screenshot of your /Library/Extensions folder.
  3. Run IORegistryExplorer and choose File --> Save As... to save the IOReg data. Upload that file.

Hello you want me to remove board serial number or Just serial Number. I had removed the serial number from both the option and shared the files that you required me to upload please check and confirm what needs to be done. for all this

Do you also have kexts installed to Library/Extensions or are all your kexts in “other”?

Thanks!

One doubt you use the 580, in slot 2, because mine is in slot 1. Would this be a problem with halting or disabling intel hd?

  • There is a Corsair H150i liquid all-in-cooler attached to the internal F_USB header on HS11.
  • Which WiFi/BT card have you installed? The built-in Intel CNVi module does not work with macOS so we recommend the Fenvi FV-T919.
    • The IORegistry file indicates: (a) No WiFi card and (b) No Bluetooth connection.
  • When you install a third-party WiFi/BT card (such as the Fenvi) you will need to connect the included USB data cable to the F_USB internal USB 2 header.
  • Because you already have a Corsair H150i liquid cooler attached to the F_USB header, you will need to use a 9-pin USB 2 splitter such as this one:
FaceTime and Messages won't work until you have WiFi/BT card installed.

out....

Mojave 10.14.6:

As usual, please make a full backup of existing system before attempting the in-place update from 10.14.5 to 10.14.6.

I wonder if this update supports AMD RX 5700 and RX 5700XT...
