[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi all, just build my first Hackintosh with thanks to the guide, one slight issue is that I can't see my GPU temperatures in HWmonitor. Im running an Asus Strix Vega 64. I have tried replacing the FakeSMC and sensors but with no luck. any help with this would be great.
Same for me with HWMonitor. But iStat Menus shows the temperature.

I have that same issue. Also, none of the fans in my system are detected. They all work fine, though.
Fans can be monitored with VirtualSMC by following this mini-guide. Please heed all warnings in that guide and proceed at your own risk!

Hello guys,
Thanks CaseySJ for the amazing guide and hard work, really appreciate it.

I just built a new pc, soon to be hackintosh, been trying to install Mojave 10.14.5 with no success.

My parts are the following:
Intel i5 9600k
Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi (itx one)
Samsung EVO Plus 970 500GB
Powercolor Red Dragon Vega 56 (hasn't arrived yet)

I've been having a lot of trouble installing Mojave because (I assume) I currently have no discrete GPU and thus, have to connect directly to the mobo HDMI port.
I followed the guide up until the install point, I have been trying other efis/configs/kexts with little to no success. I have also updated the nvme firmware so that it doesn't give problems . Also tried to do a non-UniBeast install following a vanilla mac os guide.

I always get kernel panics, or in 2 instances (with this guide and the vanilla install from another site's guide) stuck at 15/12 minutes remaining...

I'm leaving my most recent EFI folder that I got from following this guide step by step, maybe someone can help me out a little bit.

Also, if I follow this guide, will I need to inject Intel with fakeID anyways? I'm kind of lost and reading all over the place. Maybe the problems will solve once my vega 56 arrives, I'll try to switch to a headless platform once it arrives, but as of now I can't even install :(
Hello @Sike,

Are you connecting your monitor via HDMI to the HDMI port on the back of your AORUS Pro motherboard?

Please try the attached config.plist. I assume you know how to mount EFI partition of the USB install disk and where to copy this file.

Hi everybody, Thunderbolt 3 is not working in the MAC with my QNAP TVS-472-XT NAS (It's working perfectly in the Windows 10)
Here are the detail info of my build.

MB: Gigabyte Z390 Designare
CPU: i9 9900
Ram: 64 GB (Corsair Venegance ddr4)
GPU: Radeon RX Vega64
Intel I211 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet:
Intel I219V7 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet:
Intel Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 Controller:
NVMe Samsung 970 evo 500gb (Mac Os)
NVMe Samsung 970 evo 500gb (windows)
Crucial MX500 2TB (Mac storage)
Crucial MX500 2TB (win storage)

Others
NAS: QNAP Thunderbolt 3 + 10G NAS
TVS-472XT
In windows 10 it is working perfectly with TB3 card.

Anyone can help?

Thanks

The QNAP NAS will most likely not appear in PCI page of System Information, but it should appear in IORegistryExplorer. In the search box, type "RP05". And then click the little "x" on the right end of the same search bar in order to view child nodes in the tree. Now do you see the QNAP listed?

If not, it's possible that QNAP connects over a Thunderbolt Ethernet Bridge, but unfortunately, that requires Thunderbolt Local Node, which is not currently working on Hackintoshes:

Hi! I'm a new Hackintosher and my install of macOS from Clover keeps getting stuck at "vm swap subsystem is on" I've turned off VD-T and have dart = 0, but it still gets stuck on there. Is there anything I'm doing wrong or would have to change? I know my motherboard is different than yours but I don't see how that could make a massive difference in terms of the VM swap issue. Thank you
Some suggestions:
  • Update to latest BIOS and configure BIOS parameters.
  • Which procedure or guide did you follow to create your USB install disk?
  • Have you seen this guide? It looks quite good...

Can that TB patch be used on the Z370 if I use RP21 substitutions wherever needed?
If you have a GC-Titan Ridge or GC-Alpine Ridge add-in-card, it would be necessary to perform a quick port discovery procedure first, like this:
  • Boot system with the current Thunderbolt Hot Plug SSDT.
  • Plug a USB 3 device into each USB-C port and use IORegistryExplorer to determine where the device is connecting.
    • It should connect to one of 4 possible USB ports under RP21.
  • Plug a USB 2 device into each USB-C port (yup, you may need a USB-C to USB 2 data cable) and again use IORegistryExplorer to determine where the device is connecting.
  • List the results of this discovery process.
That will allow us to determine whether the new SSDT should or should not be used.

I see. Do you have a link to the 6-switch device? It sounds like an interesting solution for using more of the SATA ports.

It only switches the power to the drives on and off, you can't switch the data connections. Now there's an idea!?

Huge thanks!! I was able to install Mojave right away with that config! Worked like a charm.

I also added the AppleALC kext that I lacked and added the plugin type in clover configurator after installation, so native power management is up and working :D

I needed the HDMI black screen patch you posted about right? I noticed you added a lot of entries under Properties > PciRoot.
When the Vega 56 arrives and I want to go headless platform I need to delete some of those and add the 0x3E980003 platform id using the Hackintool as you mentioned right? With that I should be good to go? I don't know if I'm missing anything else... for now almost everything works besides sleeping, then the screen just goes like one of those old tvs and black. I assume it will fix itself with a discrete GPU (?).

Again, many many thanks for your help.

Glad to hear it!

Yes, this was one of a handful of modifications.

Yes, simply delete all of those entries under Devices --> Properties and use Hackintool to insert new ones for Platform ID 0x3E980003.

Have you installed EmuVariableUefi-64.efi? You can check this by looking for a file named nvram.plist in the EFI folder of the EFI partition as shown:
