[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Can anyone comment as to the clearance for the first PCI-e x1 slot when a GPU is installed in the First x16 slot? Will something like this PCI-e PCI Express 36PIN 1X Extender work or must we settle for that slot being of no use?
That should work, but you’ll need a way to secure the PCIe card to the inside or outside of the case.

Look for the device RP05 on the left side panel (do not use the search bar). Do you see the LaCie drive listed as a child node anywhere under RP05?

Not sure if I am seeing it in there. Attached a screenshot

Unfortunately it’s not listed. The screenshot also shows that you have older version of the Thunderbolt hot-plug SSDT because we can see HS01 and HS02 under XHC5. The latest version removes these bogus devices and helps improve sleep/wake reliability.

How would I go about updating? Do you think updating it would allow the hard drive to be seen by the system?

Hi all, just build my first Hackintosh with thanks to the guide, one slight issue is that I can't see my GPU temperatures in HWmonitor. Im running an Asus Strix Vega 64. I have tried replacing the FakeSMC and sensors but with no luck. any help with this would be great.

I have that same issue. Also, none of the fans in my system are detected. They all work fine, though.

Hello guys,
Thanks CaseySJ for the amazing guide and hard work, really appreciate it.

I just built a new pc, soon to be hackintosh, been trying to install Mojave 10.14.5 with no success.

My parts are the following:
Intel i5 9600k
Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi (itx one)
Samsung EVO Plus 970 500GB
Powercolor Red Dragon Vega 56 (hasn't arrived yet)

I've been having a lot of trouble installing Mojave because (I assume) I currently have no discrete GPU and thus, have to connect directly to the mobo HDMI port.
I followed the guide up until the install point, I have been trying other efis/configs/kexts with little to no success. I have also updated the nvme firmware so that it doesn't give problems . Also tried to do a non-UniBeast install following a vanilla mac os guide.

I always get kernel panics, or in 2 instances (with this guide and the vanilla install from another site's guide) stuck at 15/12 minutes remaining...

I'm leaving my most recent EFI folder that I got from following this guide step by step, maybe someone can help me out a little bit.

Also, if I follow this guide, will I need to inject Intel with fakeID anyways? I'm kind of lost and reading all over the place. Maybe the problems will solve once my vega 56 arrives, I'll try to switch to a headless platform once it arrives, but as of now I can't even install :(

Hi! I'm a new Hackintosher and my install of macOS from Clover keeps getting stuck at "vm swap subsystem is on" I've turned off VD-T and have dart = 0, but it still gets stuck on there. Is there anything I'm doing wrong or would have to change? I know my motherboard is different than yours but I don't see how that could make a massive difference in terms of the VM swap issue. Thank you

The latest SSDT named SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-TB3HP-V4.aml can be found in Post-Install Files.zip. To install:
  • Mount EFI partition of Mojave SSD.
  • Delete the existing SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-TB3HP-Vxx.aml from CLOVER/ACPI/patched
  • Copy the new file in CLOVER/ACPI/patched
  • Reboot
This does not address the LaCie problem, but improves sleep/wake reliability as mentioned in previous post.

The LaCie Thunderbolt 1 drive does not look like it will work on this system. Your options are limited:
  • Test it with a TB3 dock, but return it if it doesn't help (or borrow one from someone if you can).
  • Purchase a new TB3 drive enclosure. There are many very good models on the market. You should be able to move the existing drives into the new enclosure.
    • Please see Thunderbolt 3 Experiences for a list of known compatible models.
EDIT: One more suggestion:
  • Temporary delete or move out the file SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-TB3HP-V4.aml from the CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder.
  • Don't worry -- macOS will still initialize the Thunderbolt system. Only hot plug capability will be gone.
  • Connect the LaCie to either of the two USB-C (Thunderbolt) ports on the back panel and reboot.
    • LaCie must be connected and powered on before rebooting the computer.
  • Does the drive show up in macOS?
