MOTU 828mk3 Hybrid (using Firewire) Works great!
I am replacing a 2005 PPC Dual Processor G5 which still runs and has
never leaked. It is just aging and completely unsupported both hardware
and software. But I have used it well for the past 14 years. I use Logic
with several MOTU audio interfaces that use FireWire. It also had a UAD
UAD2 QUAD (PCI) which I can no longer use. I’m still thinking about what
to do about that. I own more than a few UAD plugins.
This is my first Hackintosh and third PC build. In the past I’ve built a
NAS and a Firewall both run BSD. I have grown to be quite disappointed
with Apples continually dropping interface support every few model
releases. I have a ton of work dedicated to Logic projects and sampled
instruments. I thought about changing platforms but I would lose way too
much work and time. So I looked into a Hackintosch and decided to build
one. While researching I ran across you build. I’d like to really thank
you Casey, for your exceptional guide and the support you have given to people.
I’m happy to report I have had success too. I used the CCC guide in you
build guide to make a bootable backup and that works too.
