I followed the guide on 7010 with i5 3475s (with SSDT + config from topic) and got bug with black tabs in safari on Mojave. :\

And also can't connect to the App Store. It just auto log out me after login..
Someone can help me? Thanks!

Can someone with 7010 + 3475s upload EFI folder? Configs from first post working only after install, when I try to reboot video and opacity are broken..

Sorry if this particular problem has been addressed before, I just can't find any search function for this thread, and it's 169 pages long..

I've got a 9010 which was downgraded from an i7 3770 to an I5 3330 since the former stopped booting. I wasn't aware of the issues with hd4000 vs hd2500 when downgrading, but am not trying to install High Sierra. I've got a GTX750, and install seems to proceed well until [...]

Edit: looks like I had an old EFI partition, had to erase the disk completely in Windows.

After putting the GTX750 back in I got an account set up and logged in.

Went through step 5 and 6, then installed nvidia web driver, and now it boots to a black screen.

Edit: picked up a dirt cheap Quadro K600 and ran the installation again, and now everything is good! Excellent work on the guide!

Hey! trying to install mojave on optiplex 9010 and once i have done everything that has been said in bios and going into the clover boot menu and running verboose mode then the panic will occur and it says "please switch to xpc or bootstrap". I wonder what I'm doing wrong or if it's the machine that's wrong with! would really be gold if anyone knows what is needed to do?

@Torgeir and @Dimman and @sisihav your profiles must contain your hardware, CPU, Graphics and Optiplex number and form factor before you can get any assistance. Fill it out here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/account/account-details

Get a new 500W Seasonic S12 III PSU from Newegg for under 25 USD !
This offer at this price is only good till June 30th 2019. This is a good low cost replacement PSU for your Optiplex Mini Tower.

https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-s12iii-bronze-series-ssr-500gb3-500w/p/N82E16817151226?Item=N82E16817151226

This Seasonic has a 5 year warranty, silent fan and best of all, fits easily into your Dell Optiplex MT with no mods needed.
Use the promo code, send in the $15 rebate and get free shipping by paying with PayPal and it should cost under $25
Even if you don't have a Graphics card that requires extra power you should buy one anyway to keep as a replacement if your Dell PSU ever dies on you. Dell replacements cost about 20 dollars on Ebay.

Thanks guys! One successful mojave install here!
Dell optiplex mt 7010 with evga gt 710 gpu.
Keep it up!!

Thank you for this wonderful guide tsr96, I've had a mostly successful install with this build.
I followed your guide step by step through to the end and added the i7 power management SSDT.

I am having a few issues though, everything seemed good until I opened the Mac App Store and the screen froze for a couple minutes. Afterwards I also began getting black tabs in Safari.

I've tried looking this up online and it appears to be a graphics issue. I am on Mojave 10.14.2 (my intention was to update but I can't open the App Store without freezes)

Steps I've tried taking toward resolution so far:
  1. Using newest release of WhateverGreen.kext (Release 1.2.9) rather than 1.2.8 from the Guide's zip
  2. Adding WhateverGreen to EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other
  3. Adding Lilu and WhateverGreen to EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other

This second issue I'm having is that after flashing the BIOS from A21 to A29 and configuring setup, I lost video output. I was able to reset the BIOS preferences by using the Real Time Clock Reset Jumper and regained video. I was able to determine that the video loss was occurring upon unchecking the "Allow legacy boot" option in the advanced section. So I had to leave this box checked and because of this Clover boots with a low resolution.

Do you think these may be related? Or have any suggestions?

Hello, Is there any way to control the CPU and GPU fans? I tried macs fan control, TG pro and SMC fan control none of them works.

Thanks

A few other people have reported the black tabs in Safari when using Mojave and HD4000 graphics. I've never been able to reproduce that. I don't think it's ever happened when using a GT 710 or other compatible Nvidia card. It is probably related to this being the first macOS with a complete Dark Mode UI. It looks like the GUI is partly in dark mode and partly in light mode. You might try different settings in System Prefs to see if it changes. For the time being use Chrome or Firefox instead until a solution is found.
