[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi thanks for the amazing guide.
Just to clarify, i think there is a mistake or confusion with the WiFi recommendation.

The module BCM94360CS2 has only two antenna connections.

The module BCM943602CS has three antenna connections.

The adapter works with both modules, but i wonder which one is better and which one do you have. It seems weird to have this 3rd antenna not doing anything.

Just air-dropped 32 photos one by one from the iPhone with no issues. Monitor driven by RX 580 over DisplayPort. Headless platform ID 0x3E980003 with iGPU used for compute tasks.
Thanks very much for trying! It must either have to do with iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS or with Vega64s in general or because of some combination of the BCM943602CS and GPU. I just tested in on macOS 10.14.4, it crashed after airdropping only 2 photos this time. I had already tested several different EFI folders, with and without WhateverGreen, with and without headless iGPU, but it’s always the same. I haven’t tested a different SMBIOS though.

I found my crazy clicking to be the high end audio components on motherboard if I disable on board audio no clicking arcing sound. I have Motu 1248 and hdmi audio so I’m ok without it but would like like to know the cause
I have some clicking as well coming out of the case – and sometimes it’s audible a bit through the speakers connected to my MOTU 8A. I wasn’t sure if this was the CPU. I am not using onboard audio anyway. How did you disable it? Or do you mean you just don’t use it and have clicking only when you have speakers connected to the onboard audio?

EDIT: At the moment it’s dead silent. It could really just be normal CPU computing sounds in my case?

The 3rd antenna is for 5GHz WiFi.

The Bluetooth range is very small with my BCM943602CS.

I actually didn't fix it. I get audible 'clicks' when using the USB connection on my DAC, but I don't get them when I use onboard digital output (TOS-link), so I just switched to using that. There was also another annoying problem with my DAC not detecting properly on macOS startup, so I would have to unplug and replug it in. It might be SSDT related, but I can't really be bothered troubleshooting it because it works fine with optical. Maybe another time when I have a break.

Nice! I would like to add this to Contributed Files and Tips.
Yes, please! There are rumors from people who have installed the macOS 10.14.5 Beta that with 10.14.5 there will be no need for any Vega fan control anymore, they say it works just fine there without any injected PowerPlayTable or Vega Tab kexts, just as it would in Windows.

Alright... my bad... I did accidentally set an iMac SMBIOS.

So - what's the best way to change it? I'm assuming a reinstall? (I tried changing the clover options during the bootload but it seems that they don't stick. Also - if the drive wasn't an m.2 drive I would assume I could just easily mount the drive on my laptop and modify the EFI on it to show the right SMBIOS but I don't have a way to connect to the m.2 drive easily)

If you still have the USB install drive, try booting from that and selecting your internal drive.

I keep one around with my current "stable" EFI folder just for rescue and testing purposes.
