[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

This seems to be a very common theme with Sapphire RX 580 Pulse. My MSI RX 580 Gaming X does not have any such problem. I get BIOS and Clover screens from HDMI and DisplayPort on my LG 1080p and ASUS 4K monitors during boot.
I actually have a different card to try. Will keep the thread posted. I just got a hand me down AMD Radeon Pro WX 9100. (Long story) I have ordered the Mini Display Port adapter cables and will swap it in and see what happens. I have have full Blue tooth and Wifi (I haven't changed any thing in BIOS) and am using the card and PCI adapter that you have in the build guide.

  • The two data pins on the USB cable should either attach to the two pins in the lower red box or the two pins in the upper yellow box.
  • The upper and lower rows constitute 2 different USB ports, HS11 and HS12, but I don't know which one is top row and which is bottom row.
  • I believe we have disabled HS12 from the custom USB SSDT. So one of the two rows will not function, but this is easy to fix. We can easily enable either or both ports with a modification to the SSDT.
  • Can your Bluetooth cable fit on either the top or bottom row?
  • P.S. Computer should be shut down and unplugged from the wall when inserting or removing USB cables in the motherboard USB headers.

I will try both of those positions later and get back to you.
I'm most grateful for your patience with me.
This is my last hurdle as everything else is working at this point including iMessage/Facetime, Final Cut, SATA4 & 5 etc...

The only other thing I'm looking for is a 4pin power cable for that pesky ATX_12V_2X2 CPU power connector,
as I'd like to give my i7-8700K a little O.C. (it is unlocked after all.)

I have 3 available ports on my Power Supply. 1 x 8pin and 2 x 6pin ports. Not immediately obvious which cable to get.

There are 8 pin to 4 pin cables such as this one:

BUT PLEASE CHECK THE PIN DIAGRAM IN DESIGNARE MANUAL FOR THE ATX 12V_2x2 PORT to make sure there's a match.

For the Bluetooth data cable, note the little chevron that identifies the Power pin. So please align the chevron to either Pin 1 or Pin 2 depending on use of top row or bottom row.

I apologize if this has been addressed already. I did spend some time searching for an answer, but this thread has grown quite large! :)

Since I updated to 10.14.3, I cannot boot UNLESS I set Integrated Graphics to AUTO or disabled. If the integrated graphics option is set to ENABLED, I cannot boot. I just get the NO boot disk symbol. If I boot with -V, I see a message about UNINTERRUPTIBLE PROCESSOR(S)

Anyone else seen this?

Hey @CaseySJ finally received today the sustitute MB Xtreme from Amazon. As told you I had the problem of the front usb port not working.

So I migrated everything is the same order (disks, etc) to the new motherboard, and everything is working perfectly now. But I have a nasty bug:

I can't login on App Store! It just can't make login and can't update or install new apps. Strange because icloud apparently is working, as continuity and imessage. Just app store has this bug.

Already tried several possible solutions found on web, but none of them worked. Do you have any clue?

Thanks again in advance

Edit: after sign out and sign in again on iCloud, iMessage and continuity does not work anymore :(

Please boot again with "-v" and integrated graphics enabled, then post a screenshot of the final set of log messages on screen before the system freezes (I'm assuming system freezes instead of rebooting or going completely black).

While in BIOS, also try setting "Above 4G Decoding" to "enabled".

Good to see that the problem was in fact the front USB header. To solve your iCloud, Messages, FaceTime, and possibly AppStore problem, try installing EmuVariable as follows:
  1. Run Clover Configurator.
  2. Click Mount EFI from the left side of Clover Configurator and mount the Mojave SSD EFI partition.
  3. Then click Install Drivers from left side of Clover Configurator and choose EmuVariableUefi-64.
  4. Reboot.
  5. Login again and FIRST THING: Sign in to iCloud. Don't run Messages or FaceTime or AppStore. Login to iCloud first.
  6. Then login to everything else...

I have another problem. I reinstalled everything from the scratch again. Now my issue is it freezes in 10 secs after it is successfully booted. No black screen or something, everything just freezes.
It wasn't like that when I just installed Mojave. I was able to install office and a few other apps.

Update: After I disabled iGPU in BIOS it stopped freezing.

Well, somehow since I last posted something else changed and now I am not even getting the Uninterruptible Processors error.

It freezes at "Start ReadKernelCache"

This error goes away and I can boot OK if I turn off the integrated Graphics.
Things were working fine until I updated to the latest Mojave patch. In fact the patch worked fine and I was able to boot a few times. This seemed to happen overnight. I came down in the morning and the computer had rebooted and was sitting at the "forbidden" screen

Just to mention it: If u run into a failed boot or at least interrupted boot process, gigabyte mainboards tend to switch back to the other BIOS (remember Dual BIOS Feature). If u ve nt updated both BIOS Chips AND your BIOS settings twice u might encounter this behaviour too?
