Your kextcache proves you forgot to install Lilu.kext+ WhateverGreen.kext.

I'm not sure how but WhateverGreen did get removed. After installing it, it is now fully functional.

Thanks for all the help!

Has anyone else had any issue with the battery status?

I haven't had any issues with that personally, at least none that I can tell. My main issue I'm having now is when plugging into power the computer reboots (I write it off as a KP) I tried looking around on the site but wasn't able to find anything thus far. Attached are debug files.

Sorry for the delay in a response for this. I too don’t know why there are so many fixes in there either haha. It could have been I had a specific fix in there and then updating clover added extra ones or something along those lines. I will try to take a look at it today or tomorrow. In regards to the sound issues people are having, I don’t know why the solution I have for my laptop wouldn’t also work but I will look into that as well. If I can’t figure it out I will add your solution to the guide. Thank you for your help RM.

Has anyone else had any issue with the battery status?

Actually, I recently have also been having an issue with battery status. I used to not have issues (specifically I can recall I didn’t on the Mojave betas) but I only started noticing it about a week or so ago. It might just be a kext that needs updating or something similar. I will check today or tomorrow when I am investigating the audio and aptio issues people are having.

In the meantime, a sloppy “bypass” is just using the battery status button on the right side of the laptop and see which of the 5 levels you are at. Doesn’t remediate the issue in any way but it can at least help until a fix is found.

Hello all,

I got to work on this stuff much sooner than I thought (in regards to the messages above ^^) and have updated to install folders for both versions in the original post to remove the excess aptio fixes and (hopefully!) fix the audio issues people are having. I say hopefully because I tested @RehabMan 's fixes and they seem to be working for me but I haven't been able to test with headphones yet but I don't see why they wouldn't work as well. I used the ALC-298 non-a .dsl version for my laptop with the latest version of CC.kext installed to /L/E. All files should be in the updated downloads.

As for the extra VoodooI2C improvements, I was unable to get the patches to compile properly for myself but it seems the general advice is that changing the files for VoodooI2C is something each user should do on their own. I also don't have anything for the battery display issue yet but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

I have not added any changes for DVMT-prealloc. It seems that most issues with this were not an issue from my guide(?) correct me if I am wrong.

For audio, I had to run the ALCPlugFix script to get the headphone jack to work. Maybe include that instruction/file folder as well?

If you give me the link I'll add it. Google is failing me rn haha

I'm still figuring out sleep but for now just shutting down isn't so bad since it boots up so fast. Before I put my laptop to sleep over night and it'll lose 1-3% but now it's loosing ~40%.

The battery not updating is an issue with the firstpolldelay, this was a previous issue and the solution is really simple.

From https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Battery-Driver
2017-10-01 v1.81.4
  • add kernel flag "abm_firstpolldelay" to allow override of FirstPollDelay with simple kernel flag entry (config.plist/Boot/Arguments). For example, to set FirstPollDelay to 16000 (16 seconds), use abm_firstpolldelay=16000

So basically add to your boot arguments. 16 seconds will work.
