[solved] Can't boot to installer on XPS 15 9570 4K

Shown in my self introduction, My graphics card is HD5500, I only use 00003001(19MB) in framebuffer-stolenmem and 00009000(9MB) for framebuffer-fbmem. Totally the same as the example given in the guide. But I don't think the little DVMT pre-allocated is adequate for your 4K screen.

You're off-topic. This thread is regarding a Dell 9570. Your profile shows no Dell laptop.

You can patch the Framebuffer to match the 64MB limitation, an alternative choice. I don't know if 64 MB is OK, but you can test.
the dvmt value must be greater than 128,the uhd630 will work.

By the way, the DVMT-prealloc size is 64MB by default on the 9570.

That's the maximum. I'll try 44MB for stolen, 18MB for cursor later.

emmm……if dvmt can't be set to 128M,the video memory size will still stay in 31M.I tried many times……But maybe you can make it.

I've been attempting to take stuff from the 4K 9560 guide, since apparently the Skylake spoof used in that guide might work with the UHD 630.

Interestingly enough, I get the same behaviour as with RehabMan's UHD630 config: hanging at gIOScreenLockState 3.

Well, at this point I'm just trying random stuff and reporting on whether it works or not, until I can try HDMI output to see which graphics card it uses...

Not possible to tell whether you're doing something that makes sense (or not) without PR files.
