pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

@pastrychef
interesting audio device implementation ... but do you guarantee that everyone will have layout-id = 2 ? ...and if they have another layout they will know where to modify it?

Please tell me where to change it if it differs from Clover\Devices\Audio\LayoutID ;-)

Found it. New clover configurator 5.1.5.0 revealed the Clover\Devices\Properties option. Here layout ID is mentioned as a property value of 02000000. Chaged this to 01000000 restored my Mic input an also a line input. So layout 2 is not the correct layoutID for my mainboard I guess. Thanks corint1 you gave the right tip that the layout was not visible anymore.

@pastrychef In the latest Public Beta can you verify if your Vega is working without any fan speed issues? Apparently the issue is resolved according to a post on insanelymac..

I'm running pretty much a "stock" PastryChef build - but as I've noted in this thread previously, I ran Migration Assistant from my old Hackintosh, and I think it might have copied over some kexts. Everything seems to work well, but I always get a reboot when waking from sleep (so something is wrong). I've done the SDST and USB port limit fixes.

This is what's in my Library/Extensions - I don't remember copying anything there - so I'm not sure why there's anything in there? I'm pretty sure the RealtekRTL8111.kext is from my old Hackintosh - not sure what else is supposed to be here.

@pastrychef I've swapped the 980ti with Sapphire Vega 56 and sleep/wake still works as it should, so the problem seems to be caused by cables. However, the Vega causes infamous mouse stutter/lag :(

And of course in addition to the above, the fans once spun up, never go down and they get quite loud. Given all of that it really seems like 980ti is the better choice for this hackintosh than the Vega cards.

It does not appear to me like it has been fixed the fan is running at about 50% while under load and not under load. It does not appear to me like it is returning to the idle state. Though due to the fan running that this higher rate the GPU is staying much cooler. There are two solutions start video Itunes or something else when your done what what ever you are doing that ramped the video card up or get a Keytext there are a few posted on this forum already. There is a third option get some decent headphone and when you use your computer put them on.

I ended up purchasing a Sapphire Vega 64 Nitro + and can confirm that it appears the fan issue is not present with that card, except with the latest beta version the fan occasionally will not return to silent and a H.265 video must be played to make the card quiet again.. Looks like Apple is fixing things

Maybe because that is one of the cards or at least one of the brands that Apple is supporting in the eGPU.

@pastrychef What smbios do you use? iMacPro1,1 or iMac18,3?
Just asking out of curiosity since with the iMacPro smbios, I cannot get AGPM working for the Vega 64 card. If I use the iMac 18,3 smbios I can use the dAGPM.kext to enable GPU Power management for the iGPU and the Vega GPU.

EDIT: It seems that with iMac18,3, there is no need for dAGPM.kext since I get AGPM working for the Vega card natively.

I still think that your mouse stutters are due to cables. You can test by using HDMI cable instead of DisplayPort cable.
