Hi all!
This will be my first Hackintosh. I have built a handful of PC's back in the XP days, but been an OSX lover for over ten years now.
I am a professional videographer who also does color, sound and graphics. I need something that can edit and transcode FAST. I also think I need thunderbolt for big drives etc. I'm right at the edge of finally getting big clients and doing some real commercial work. I also make documentaries for artists.
I'm asking for some insight and advice into my proposed rig. Maybe I'll even use an older install of OSX? I've designed it with a fast m.2 card for my OS and scratch disks, and a 2tb ssd stripe raid for my current edits, bigger drives will be used for storage and backup. I'm wondering about the ram type, if these TB add-in cards really work, if I have enough power, if bios raid works, if there are any snags with m.2, etc... I'm good technically, just not fluent with the current tech and this hackintosh world.
