Your 8700K was natively recognized in "About this Mac" ?

Just noticed your post.

No - It reads "3.7GHz Processor Unknown". There's a resource edit you can do to change it, but its purely cosmetic.

Thank you for your answer.
How do you know the CPU is properly recognized and the power management is working properly?

Within HWMonitor, I see the processor change multiplier/frequencies from 800mhz to the maximum turbo frequency, based on load. There may be more to it than that, but that's the only functionality I know of that may behave differently (or not be visible at all) if it wasn't working properly.

Hi !

I have the same mobo.

Can you give your EFI Folder ?

thanks

I rebuild the machine this weekend and updated the guide. Changes -
  • Switched to iMac14,2. With iMac18,3 & 10.13.4, I had to use Lilu & WhateverGreen for dual monitors. That mostly worked, but I would occasionally get a black screen on wake. With 14,2, video just works out of box.
  • Switched to USB audio. I couldn't get 1220A to work again after the 10.13.4 security update. I'll probably try again after the next release.

I lost audio after updating to 10.13.4 but everything else went OK. Audio fix in an edit to the OP.

I get the full video card model now in About This Mac. Woohoo.

You may try use AppleALC.kext and Lilu.kext put in the EFI\Clover\Kext\other and it work on 10.13.4 ALC1200A of Asus ROG Strix. Cheers

I've not had any lag like that while using Nvidia or AMD cards. It sounds like you might be having a driver issue of some sort.
hi Lepus,

Have almost the exact build you used. Was able to get everything running using Intel graphics, but, having an issue with the MSI RX. OSX sees the card but I just can't get video to it. System seems to recognize it when I plug it in also, just no video. I am using older Dell monitors that only have vga and dvi, could that be the issue?

Thank You for the post you helped me get my rig up. How did you get the onboard audio to work?

Thanks

I got my onboard audio to work after my last post update, but I'm not sure exactly what sequence did it :)

I think the issue is probably resolved in the latest Multibeast update in any case -

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/multibeast-10-3-update.251336/

- Changed Drivers Audio → Realtek ALCxxx behavior to enforce that codecs cannot be chosen at the same time as Audio Support and/or Audio Device ID Patch. Codec installation must be done after installing Audio Support and/or Audio Device ID Patch.

My guess is that if you use the new Multibeast and load the drivers as described above it will work.
