macOS 10.13.4 Update

Hi everyone,

I have read the thread thoroughly. Any problems with the combination of z87 boards with Haswell and 970's? I can't find anyone reporting back on anything with that combo.

Also, to the best of my knowledge, I have never patched the USB limit ever in my whole Hackintosh history. Is this now mandatory or just optional for those already using it?

Thanks in advance as ever,

Amblin

So, thanks for your response. So, in my post, the final line that I didn't see because Apple obscures it is: "Still waiting for root device" (which becomes the prohibited sign if you don't boot with -v) This line comes right after the HID Legacy shim 2 line.

And, when I entered the new PMHeart patch, I did so by copying and pasting it via Text Wrangler. Didn't enter it via Clover Configurator.

So, I entered what you responded with, in Clover Configurator, just so you know, and deleted my original PMHeart patch.

Is that of some help?

Ok now I am with you. So after adding the patch via Clover Configurator are you still seeing the exact error?

I'm on H81 with GTX 970. No problems to report, if you didn't use a port limit patch before you won't need to now (i certainly don't need one). Only change is HDMI audio on my GTX 970 needs a new workaround detailed in this HDMI audio thread.

Hey, vulgo......you're a pretty sharp guy when it comes to upgrading and manipulating parameters in the macOS, any insights on my problem? Sorry to ask, but I've now spent an entire day and come up with zip......

This thread is intended as an announcement of the High Sierra 10.13.4 Update not a help thread.
Please start a new thread in High Sierra Desktop Support explaining your problem.
TIA

No I don't think I experience a degradation, but I don't game or have had problems playing back videos in VLC. Yes, iGPU enabled in BIOS. Can you see your iGPU in System Report? When ig-platform-ids are "headless" it means they will not work with a monitor plugged into them. They're just enabled for the good stuff like hardware encoding. If you have injected Intel as it sounds like you have and enabled in BIOS then you should be good to go. A way to test is install and open MacX Video Convertor Pro (trial) and click the info icon next to Intel/AMD/Nividia. You can see video encoding is enabled. You might also need shiki.kext and shikigva=4 boot flag (for AMD, shikigva=12 for Nividia), HECI -> IMEI, GFX0 -> IGPU and PEGP -> GFX0 patches as well.

And sounds like you might want to get your USB set-up sorted. See 7.2 https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/10-11-0-10-11-3-skylake-starter-guide.179221/

So, made a few adjustments:
Removed FakeGFX
Changed shikigva to 4
Removed Whatever green

Got video with hardware acceleration with these settings (had it before as well), however, once again I experienced graphics degradation after playing a vlc video or playing a game. In addition to this, I experienced itunes crashes continuously and the same sleep issues. Putting whatevergreen back fixed the sleep issues, putting my fakeGFX code and shiki code back to 60 fixed my itunes crashes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I also cannot see my IGPU in my system report. So that's good.

Still have full hardware acceleration and no sleep issues (besides wake from bluetooth not working, I checked advanced bluetooth settings and it still didn't work) . I'm going to seriously have to sit and look at that thread. Thank you!

I'm on 10.13.1 (17B1003) I downloaded 10.13.4 Combo Update file

Opened it
Install
Reboot
On clover menu pressed F3 to open hidden menu
Select Install Mac ...
After a few second system rebooted. (I tried this section and reboot and reboot again)

I have this issue for 10.13.3 too.

What should I do? How to determine the issue?
