You should leave all of that with maybe the exception of FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext. I don't think that's needed if you are using the IGPU headlessly.

I've seen problems with this card, "Radeon RX 550 D5 2GB" in the past with previous Mac iOS iterations (and previous Intel set-ups). Anyone with present experience in 10.13.4 in a coffee lake set-up? I don't do video processing or gaming, simply looking for extra push in the Adobe Photoshop filters processing.

Are you asking if anyone has experience with the Radeon RX 550 D5 2GB?

I don't. I'm using a Vega 56.

Yes, I am asking if anyone has experience with either this card or the 4GB variant. I understand that you are using the Vega 56 and you have been having positive results (other than noise). Can your results be expected for what I am asking about?

I haven't seen any reports from RX 550 users yet so I can't say. There are quite a lot of RX 560 and 580 users and most report positive experiences.

Ok, thanks. Once I get the i7 8700k set in the Z370 board, of the GTX 1050 2gb Card I have gives me headaches (and other physical maladies) I may try the 550

Are you saying someone has 10.13.4 running on a Pascal graphics card properly with the latest drivers? I've not seen a single report of this working without downgrading drivers. I cannot even downgrade as my machine glitches and freezes after waking from sleep with the older *.104 drivers.

My machine (Sandy Bridge i7 3.4 with a 1070Ti and the most recent Pascal drivers) is now running perfectly. I have read that only certain (more modern) configurations are experiencing the lag issue with the most recent run of drivers.

When the majority users do not experience any lags there is nothing to alert people of in the buyers guide.

Okay, I have to chime in. Henties, you are correct!

I have two GTX 1080 TIs running .106 of the nVidia driver, and I have NO issues. As in ZERO. As in NONE. I don't have boot loops or crashes, or kernel panics or NOTHING!

And I run After Effects every single day, as well as Premiere and Avid (because that's what I do for a living).

And, I would be happy to put my benchmarks against any Vega 56 or 64 any time, any day.

I have nothing against AMD. If you have one, terrific. Enjoy the fan noise and the energy use. No problem, your choice.

I mean, Geez....

I was also able to run without lag using the .104 drivers, but what happens if/when these old drivers become incompatible with the latest version of macOS?

Then you have to adapt....but isn't that ALWAYS what you have to do with computers? You always have to deal with new equipment, drivers that work sometimes, but not others, and sometimes not at all. I would remind you of our adventures with the 10GBE cards......that got fixed, didn't it? So, it can be done.

But Graphics cards aren't forever, and in a year, I may not have the 1080 TIs because something else will come around....in my view, there is no permanancy in what you buy, unless you're buying a real Mac. And, even then.....

No offense, Pastrychef, I have enjoyed working with you on the 10GBE forum thread.....
