the most easy way is to find an adapter to the ssd slot, wich is a key m and supports 4 lane pcie
Which is not easy way anyway. I just can't find something that will suite my needs. Did you found something? I really don't want to use third-party software for USB dongle, and the fact is I got only 1 USB port after it.
TL : DR Is there any concrete solution (not theoretical) for putting second internal wi-fi card in this notebook?

http://www.bplus.com.tw/Adapter/M2E.html this is the only suitable adapter I was able to find, I understand that the usb header doesn't need to be connected if your gonna use the m.2 connection, since my mi note pro is yet to arrive, I'm not able to test it

the only thing I wanna correct is that the key B m.2 is able to deliver 2 lane pcie, so it is theoretically possible to make an adapter, but since this key is used mainly by ssds, I didn't find it anywhere. Since it would be a more elegant solution I may try to develop and build such adapter, but I don't intend to do that in a near future.

Hi,

I am hoping someone will be able to help me with a problem I am having with this setup.

I have spent quite some time working through the instructions laid out in this tutorial to setup High Sierra on to the Mi Notebook Pro, which I purchased only recently because of its ability to run Mac OS X, but for some reason, my system refuses to see the USB Stick to even start the installation.

When I received the Laptop, the first thing I did was to install the English version of Windows 10 to make sure everything is working as it should, and to remove the Secure Boot option set in the BIOS, as I knew this was the first thing on the list.

I followed the instructions to make a USB Drive from the High Sierra download from Apple and to put the special version of Clover on to it, but for some reason the USB Drive is NOT available to me to boot from. The BIOS is set to UEFI (which the Windows Version is installed on a split drive) if I change this to Legacy both the Windows partition and the USB is seen, but neither will boot.

Is there something else I need to do so the Mi Notebook will see my Mac USB Drive so I can install it, I really want to use this laptop with Mac OS, and if I have to remove Windows to do it then fine, but I want to know how to get round the problem I am having first and then I can worry about Windows late, I only have to use windows for work.

Please help, because it is really frustrating me.

Yours
J

They do exist, and i'm looking for an answer to..

There are some conversion connectors. We just need to find the right one.

The SSD slot in our laptops is a key M. We need to convert it to a Key A, Key E or Key A+E.

An other possibility is to get an M.2 Key M to USB converter and solder the things to each other key a stripped USB WiFi adapter.

EDIT:

Think I found something:

Hi everyone!....

INSTALLATION GUIDE
1. BIOS configuration

As a first step, we need to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS settings. To do so, access the BIOS (F2) and set up an admin password. Please remember this, as I am unsure whether there's any way of recovering this if it is lost. Disable secure boot and reboot. Press F12 at boot to select the USB device to boot from.

Hi Razorkey,

I am hoping you can help. I am following your method, but I cannot seem to get the Mi Notebook Pro i7/16g to recognize my USB Drive as a bootable device, even though I have made sure that Secure Boot is disabled. I have created the USB Several times with Sierra and High Sierra, but still nothing.

Please help, because I really am tearing my hair out with darn thing...

Yes it's works for me, i work with an external screen and internal screen and listen music with headphone jack or whitout :)
I can play to hearthstone, heroes of the storm too

Once you have install, for make the dual boot if you need (or show the clover on boot), mount the EFI of the internal disk, and replace the existing EFI by the one I gave above

I tried this but when I plug the headphone into the jack it doesn't output the sound. Looked at system preference and I can see it's switching to headphone but no should outputted to the headphone. Any help would be appreciated

cool. so 3.5 headphone jack and HDMI external display works with this clover ?

I tried this and the headphone didn't work. Any help on this would be awesome

Hi everybody,
I'm a nob, first thing.
Second, I've installed a clean version of High Sierra on my Xiaomi Mi Notebook 15.6" following this guide step-by-step and everything seems to work fine, also graphics acceleration.
I've also bought a USB WiFi dongle (TP-LINK TL-WN725N) and works pretty good, no complains about. I used a .pkg that i found online and nothing else, rebooted and working.
My problem is HDMI-Out. When I try to connect the notebook to an external monitor (HP 27es) via HDMI, the notebook reboots and, after this, won't find my monitor, displaying only to the lid display.
How can I make it work? I hope to receive some help.
Thanks everybody.

How do I check if graphics acceleration is working on mine. I was only able to get
intel UHD Graphics 620 working.

Updated main post! Should be much easier now.
