[Guide] Lenovo Y50 (UHD or 1080p) using Clover UEFI (10.11)

first of all thank you for your phantastic guide! Following the instructions I was able to install OSX Sierra 10.12.5 on my Y50 within half a day. Runs absolutely smoothly for about 2 weeks now. :)

Two questions:
1. Is it safe to update 10.12.5 to 10.12.6? Something special to care about?
2. I would like to replace the internal 1TB HDD with a SSD and have OSX as only OS. The installation guide requires Windows installed on a partition. Is it possible to install OSX as stand-alone OS?

1. Provided your Clover is relatively up-to-date, you should be fine with 10.12.6.
2. There is no requirement to have Windows installed.

2. You can def only have OSX. You would not be able to utilize your dedicated graphic card at all though
 
Thanx for the answers. Already updated to 10.12.6 successfully :)

Stand-alone was just an idea, cause I dont want Windows ;-) not being able to use the dedicated graphic card is something I have to live with. But I am not really sure, maybe I ´ll install some Linux beside OSX.
If I understand correctly, it also would be an option to first install eg some Linux, do the partitioning-stuff explained in this guide (using Windows) in Linux and then install OSX?

does your brightness and brightness slider work on 10.12.6
mine still wont work even after repo update

Your ACPI/patched content is wrong.
You should only have SSDT-HACK.aml, not SSDT-PNLF.aml.
Remove SSDT-PNLF.aml.

no difference to display settings or slider
the image for the display is different than the 10.12.4

Can I update to 10.12.6 using the installer from the app store? I have this distorted loading screen for like 20 mins with no progress. Is is supposed to take this long?
