Fix Sleep on Sierra

Status
Not open for further replies.
Im not running Sierra. Ive gone back to El Capitan not because of sleeping issues tho. Sierra is just full of bugs i wouldn't recommend it as your daily driver anyway.

Is that only the case for CustoMacs, or, Mac in general? And, mind expanding on that point?

Sometimes older hardware has a more difficult time with newer software - that's just computing in general... Age is definitely a factor.

I wouldn't say so. USB Stack is changed in 10.12 USB Power is broken no use to me if USB Power is broken.

(NOTE: We're getting way off topic of the OP here)

I can see where there were some early issues with USB device recognition (seems mostly the notebook lines), however, it seems to me something is amiss with not having USB ports function as they are expected to. If that is occurring in the latest Sierra build, that is indeed a bit of an issue. Though I have to say I haven't seen anyone else, with working Sierra builds, report this particular problem on this board (though, admittedly, I haven't thoroughly searched either).

After using Windows10 for a while I'm back here because I couldn't stand it and want/need to face whatever it is to get this thing running. I couldn't before so I used Windows for a while :/ ...

The Hack is running fine mostly and after just placing the Series-100-Patches/SSDT-LPC.aml in my patched ACPI folder it seems to have fixed the missing output (black screen) after waking from sleep where the system is still responding but you can't see anything. The display so far always came back on when I tested it.

Problem is the pc won't stay in sleep, it comes back on after about 1 second... So I downloaded the ioregexplorer and will attach my ioreg here so maybe this wise dragon can assist me too in getting one of the main features running... I'd be really thankful!

And btw: How is it possible to understand anything going on in this registry file :geek::confused: I searched for gfx0 and whatever important words I collected while reading through this thread but I feel exactly like this now > :banghead:o_O

FYI SSDT-LPC is useless without change _DSM to XDSM in ACPI, DSDT, Patches in config. Native Powermanagement isn't implemented. SATA is coming under SAT0 should be SATA not SAT0, need to rename HDAS to HDEF, Theres no SMBUS neither. XHC has no AAPL Values. Use Patches from acpi_dsdt_patches.plist don't use change GFX0 to IGPU. You need Rename HDAS to HDEF, change _DSM to XDSM, change _OSI to XOSI, change SAT0 to SATA along with SSDT-HACK, SSDT-MCHC, SSDT-SATA, SSDT-SMBUS, SSDT-XHC. Once done attach your work. https://github.com/VoiletDragon/Series-100-Patches

I think I inserted everything you requested. The only thing I wondered about (because you didn't mention it anymore) is the SSDT-LPC... I left it in the folder too since I now change _DSM to XDSM. I did a quick test and it still woke up pretty much instantly.
