New Method for Enabling NVIDIA Web Drivers in Clover

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi folks. I believe I found the steps necessary to enable the web drivers (at least in my case) on a fresh install or not. I have tested this a few times on two systems:
First machine upgraded since Yosemite to Sierra 10.12.3 using a GTX 960 that I upgraded to GTX980:
  • using Sierra 10.12.3 , I upgraded the 960 to a 980 and the drivers wouldn't load anymore.
  • I reinstalled the web drivers again (367.15.10.35f01) and rebooted as required.
  • reboot the machine, the drivers wouldn't load.
  • reinstalled the latest clover version available (2.3k r3994) and customised/reapplied EmuVariableUefi-64,OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 and OsxAptioFixDrv-64.
  • opened Clover Configurator to make sure the Nvidia Web option is still checked (it was).
  • reboot again and upon reboot the drivers were loaded.
Second computer, a fresh install of Sierra on Skylake with another GTX 980:
  • fresh installed Sierra and upgraded to 10.12.3 with the combo.
  • installed the web-drivers (367.15.10.35f01) and rebooted as required. driver's didn't enable upon reboot.
  • installed the latest clover version available (2.3k r3994) and customised it with EmuVariableUefi-64,OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 and OsxAptioFixDrv-64.
  • opened Clover Configurator and checked the Nvidia Web is System Parameters.
  • reboot and the drivers were loaded

These steps made the trick for me.
Updated Clover to 4003.

Thanks man!

using Asus Strix GTX 950.

As a total newbie experiencing the same issue on a fresh (and first) install, could anyone clarify the third point for me? Particularly this part:
  • customised it with EmuVariableUefi-64,OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 and OsxAptioFixDrv-64
Thanks in advance!
When you install Clover, there's a customize button available. There you should find and tick the checkboxes for EmuVariableUefi-64,OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 and OsxAptioFixDrv-64

Followed all the instructions to the last point. But still does not work on my Zotac GTX 970 + Sierra 10.12.3 and latest 367.15.10.35f01

I have Z270 ASUS Maximus IX Hero
Clover r3994 with emuVariableUefi-64,OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 and OsxAptioFixDrv-64 and no old Nvidia entries in config.plist. I enabled Nvidia web using clover configurator.
But it as soon as apple logo progress is half-way, the screen goes blank and no output. I even applied blank screen patch, used 14,2 iMac definition.
Nothing works.
Anyone whose drivers are working provide their config.plist?

Thanks tonymacx86..

After building a second Hackintosh with dual HD 7970 Im seeing that keeping my first build with GTX 980Ti is a pain in the butt, so it came as a conclusion to me to recommend any
Hackintosh builder to go with any compatible AMD graphic card, no boot flags, no wait for web driver and no any other conflicts, just straight away.

My Gainward GTX 960 2gig works like a charm

My Gainward GTX 960 2gig works like a charm
the word (works) depends on what you need from your system to do, my 6GB GTX 980Ti also works like a charm but:
1. 980TI in FCP not good as my 7970 because of OpenCL, FCP is the heart of my work
2. 980TI Cinebench OpenGL slower then my 7970, 110fps vs 130fps
3. 980TI is never able to complete GeekBench 4 OpenCL compute benchmark, 7970 does that to the end and scores 122k
4. 980TI opens an eBook file on iBook app only in a ghost window, nothing show to read, 7970 opens it just fine
5. 980TI wait Nvidia to release webdriver to work, not straight away update of OS X as it is with my OOB 7970
6. 980TI System Definitions limitations, with 7970 I chose any recent System Definitions I like
7. other stuff which I don't remember for now, but all that means that my 980Ti also works, but not as good as my 7970.

I have 7 fps between mac osx and windows

i was having serious issues as well. if i couldn't use nv_disable=1 the monitor would shut off. I saw someone say that -no -zp in place of the nv_disable=1 in boot args worked like a charm.

also, adding this at the bottom of the config file.

i noticed that the system preferences doesn't say that it's working, but i saw a HUGE difference in the login screen video playback, so I'm sure that it must be working properly.

guys i am using vga to dva port so it can make some problem or not?

Apple's OS hasn't supported VGA in over a decade. You'll need to use DVI or HDMI or a discrete graphics card.
