New Method for Enabling NVIDIA Web Drivers in Clover

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi all,

I read the whole morning, how to fix my web driver.
All begun with the fact, that my system always went back to OS X Default Graphics Driver
- updated Clover
- installed EmuVariableUefi, OsxAptioFixDrv, OsxAptioFix2Drv
- updated web drivers to 16D32 / 367.15.10.35f01
- I enabled Web driver in System Parameter
- I disabled nvda_drv=1 and ticked nv_disable=1
and rebooted.
Now the Web driver is loading and in about this mac the graphics card GTX 970 is shown, but with 0 mb and it's slow as hell with blinks in from the bottom of the window to the top, everytime sth. is happening.

I tried div. fixes here from the forum:
Problem 5 & 6 from here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/solving-nvidia-driver-install-loading-problems.161256/

and everything from this main post.

Attached my config.plist..

Did I forget sth. really special to get this work?

Please help me... in El Capitan 10.11.6 everything works wonderful :(

EDIT

I just saw, that my NVIDIA driver manager shows no device in the ECC tab. How can I solve this? :/

Your config.plist is nonsense.
You have nv_disable=1 which disables Nvidia graphics drivers.
-no -zp is incorrect and will have no effect.
FB Name is wrong.
I don't think you need to Inject Nvidia either.
ig-platform-id 0x19120000 is for integrated Intel graphics.
SIP is not fully disabled.
Serial number CK933V81XYL is for a MacPro3,1 but your SMBIOS is supposed to be an iMac14,2.

Try with the file attached below.

Hej P1lgrim,

the config.plist you posted doesn't work. Had to untick nvda_drv=1 and tick nv_disable=1 that my system boots. Now the NVIDIA driver manager set the standart driver to OS X driver again and there is still no device in the ECC section of the driver manager...

To explain my config.plist. it works fine with el capitan with all these things.
- saw -no -zp in a guide and tried them= hasn't worked..
FB name was from an old guide which told to insert sth. unspecial
inject Nvidia was needed for el capitan and it sierra started with it too
ig-platform-id was set because I have to install el capitan without grafic cards with this ig-platform-id and intel inject. after installing the nvidia web driver i had to tick the nvidia infject.
my mac had an old serial number due to a guide for upgrading from el capitan to sierra, which told to use the serial from the global powermac3.1 and insert it with imac.17.2, that you can download sierra. otherwise it was forbidden.

All in all, thanks for your notes, but had to start with nv_disable=1 otherwise my system won't boot.

Any other ideas? :(

The drivers cannot work if you disable them.

That is the least of your problems - The card may not even support ECC but you need to get it working first.

inject Nvidia was needed for el capitan and it sierra started with it too
I'm not sure that it did because you disabled the drivers so the OS was using the VESA drivers - Put it back anyway and see.

Status hasn't changed: Boot loop with boot flag nvda_drv=1 and still with nvidia inject.. I see that I will need that.

installed EmuVariableUefi, OsxAptioFixDrv, OsxAptioFix2Drv
When you installed EmuVariableUefi did you install the RC scripts too ?
Some say that they are no longer required but it will do no damage if you install them.

when you installed OsxAptioFixDrv and OsxAptioFix2Drv did you delete the one that you were not using ?
Which one are you using now ?

You say that you have a boot loop, at what stage is this happening ?
Can you post a picture of the screen ?

Do I maybe need another drivers?
At the moment I have following
and in Clover Configurator are only following installed:
EmuVariableUefi
OsxAptioFixDrv
OsxAptioFix2Drv

Do I need some special drivers here, maybe HFS Plus or sth. like this?
