then you should see option for boot up from USB. Otherwise, you've done wrong while creating a bootable USB

check BIOS setting, allow boot from USB
try USB2.0 stick instead of USB3

erase USB --> install clover on USB --> boot from USB

Thanks for the tip . However I would like to be able to boot my device first. also, one question what is a 'hw profile'? and to answer jacktan, I have been using usb2 this whole time. and I have been able to boot other oses so I think that is not the problem. thanks!
