Direct Update to macOS Sierra using Clover

1. Download the latest version of Clover from sourceforge and update your existing Clover install. (Note, r3751 is recommended- do NOT use r3761)

Clover r3761 has a known bug with boot file. Avoid using r3761! Added to top post.

EDIT: After testing, r3761 is working fine.

Could you specify how you did that?

I don't use the OS X Trim Force command because I have a Trim patch for Clover which pre-dates trim force + works for both OSX and Windows (it's in the clover Wiki)

The Clover Trim patch goes in the KextsToPatch section of Clover Configurator

IOAHCIBlockStorage

I created my DSDT years ago using PJALM's patches and MaciASL so there's was no need to regenerate them, I use both the DS3H patch and the Intel HD4000 Gfx patch

I created my SSDT years ago using PikerAlpha's script so there's was no need to regenerate them although it was Toleda's guide that I used to get it working a few years back : )

I'm sorry that I can't go into the processes/directions as it would require too much time on my part (apologies..)

Update for my own problem ("installer payload signature failed"), if it can help someone : the problem disappears with older versions of Clover (for instance r3128). Hence my question : could I direct update safely to Sierra with r3128? If negative, what would be the oldest version able to handle Sierra?

Yeah exactly I had it enabled with Trim Force and I figured I would need to fix it in the config.plist to get rid of this error when running the audio_cloverALC.command
Code:
AppleDataSetManagement.kext - dependency for com.apple.iokit.IOAHCIBlockStorage lacks valid OSBundleCompatibleVersion.

Thanks for the information :). I've got everything fixed on my setup now. Highly appreciated!

I am using Clover version r3751 and I had this problem initially.

After waiting over 3hrs for macOS Sierra app download to complete, I ran the outstanding updates that were waiting in the Mac App Store but then stopped the update process before it could finish as I was eager to run the install macOS sierra.app.

After getting the "installer payload signature failed" pop-up 3 times, I ran the outstanding updates, rebooted and then was able to run the sierra install app without issue so try a reboot.

Well...that didn't go well.

I was finally able to boot into the installer. It said 7 minutes left and so I went and had a shower. When I came back the DOS prompt was telling me to insert a bootable disk. No matrer what disk I try to boot from (even my Sierra USB) it says the same.

I was able to get the clover boot screen with my old El Capitan USB, but there is no OS X.

This is beginning to suck.

EDIT: It works. Update went off just fine, and everything works as it did in El Capitan, including iMessage and TRIM. I have no sound, but I am confident the prescribed fix will take care of that. I left home for about 2 hours and upon my return, it all worked. Not sure what the black screen was all about, but I'm glad there is no issue.

I did select all these options when booting but still can't get it to work.
This is what I get, loading bar gets stuck and rainbow wheel is in top left corner:

I put only FakeSMC.kext in the kext folder. Do I need to put anything else in there?

I put the FakeSMC as well as the Realtek kext. You may want to see what the issue is by also enabling verbose

Unfortunately this didn't work for me... This is what I get.... (there was a line more but just as it appeared a grey screen appeared with the spinning beach ball...

Did you include the Null Power management piece? I had the same issue but removed the Null Power manage kext and it went like a charm
