[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

Status
Not open for further replies.
Boot verbose, show photo. Attach EFI/Clover folder as ZIP (omit 'themes' folder).

I changed the Skylake entry in the SSDT-IGPU.dsl from 1916 to 191b and now I seem to be making progress again. So, is almost everything supposed to be working when I use install_8x0g3_skylake?

Working
Keyboard, brightness working
Trackpad, including tap, 2-finger tap and drag, and 3-finger drag
USB3 (I think, AppleUSBXHCISPT shows active but I have no USB3 devices at the moment)
Built-in display, brightness control, display sleep
Built-in camera :)
Battery status
Audio

Not working?
Sleep (wakes instantly)
HDMI port (I'm afraid this might be tied to the M1000M?)
Keyboard insert-key, F12 seems intermittent (should I try SSDT-KEY87 ?)

Goodmorning, first of all i have said that i'm nub in these procedures (about hackintosh) and i don't speak very well English.

My machine is HP Elitebook 2560p with these details

HP EliteBook 2560p (Intel QM67 chipset)
Intel Core i7-2620M 2.70 GHz processor (Sandy Bridge) 6th Generation
Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
Ethernet - Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection
Wi-Fi - Broadcom 43224HMS 582564-002 (Ven ID:14e4, Dev ID:4353)

My problem is that i can't make the wifi working (by the way in windows 10 works proper)

I read all guides about this problem but still not working and i'm really confused (of course probably i make something wrong)

I try to extract dsdt etc. , i don't understand where i must put *.aml files, also the *.plist files etc
i think that system read only config.plist so for example the config_2x70p.plist must be merged with config.plist. Am i wrong about this?
(and which config.plist may i change? This one in usb stick when the system loaded to find the partition with sytem? or this one in hdd when it starts load the OS?)

There is no a *.kext file for Broadcom 43224HMS 582564-002 that works directly without toutch the plist file or dsdt file?

Can someone help me and give simply and specify guide and steps to make Broadcom 43224HMS 582564-002 working?

Please simply and detailed steps (download this kext, put it in efi folder in usb or in hdd, open plist file and change the Ven ID and Dev ID, etc etc)

I appreciate for any help

Please help me because it's very important for me to connect in internet through wifi because i can't use cable all the time due i live in shared house and modem is in different room...

kartoffesalat_reloaded said to me.
The Combo Jack 4-pin works with Mic and Headphones and the Mute Key too.

I hope to have a chance to do this today. Of course, it won't be default... edits will be required during testing to change the layout-id in your model specific SSDT.

Added alternate layout-id=7 for CX20724. Please test: Update to latest repo, change injected HDEF layout-id in your model specific SSDT.

Your ACPI files are slightly different, so _PRW patches are not working. Disable 'Wake on LAN', "Wake on USB" from BIOS.

HDMI port (I'm afraid this might be tied to the M1000M?)

Yes. Your HDMI is likely tied to Nvidia, just like other ZBook models. If you can make Nvidia work, you may be able to get that port working. It is not covered in this guide though.

Not sure what you mean by intermittent. You can always try KEY87 to see if it works better for your laptop.

Note: Added 8086:191b support to SSDT-IGPU.dsl.

Disabling Wake On LAN fixed the insomnia, thanks. Insert key doesn't register any keypress, and F12, seems to register a very brief keypress but not won't stay depressed. And KEY87 definitely didn't help--makes the whole keyboard go dead after hitting what must be a conflicting or unmapped key. I'll pursue the NVidia, would be neat to get it to work. Thanks for all the help, glad I could contribute my puny learnings.
