Thanks, Stork. You made my day. I was tired of trials and errors. I had Chimera on both my OSX startup disks and wondered a while why I couldn't make it through to the Clover booting process. The destination SSD needed to be erased first.

Red Chief/Joevt - sorry I meant on the GA-170X-UD5 (non thunderbolt version) Didn't realize the UD5 TH had no full size displayport.

If we're still talking about the GA-Z170X-UD5 TH, then the only way to get DisplayPort from the 530 is from the Thunderbolt 3 port with a Thunderbolt 3 or USB Type C to DisplayPort adapter. I have tried this in Mac OS X with a Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 and it worked but I'm having trouble reproducing my success (the screens go blank now...). I also haven't gotten more than one display to work yet.

If anyone has gotten Intel 530 graphics working with multiple monitors, with another monitor connected to an Nvidia graphics card, with sleep/wake, with hot plug, then I would like to know about it.

Hi Joevt, Im a little new, so i don't understand...
My plan was to use the Z170X UD5 TH Mb, and one reason was that I could use the HDMI with onboard graphics with a 4k monitor. I am building a music production machine - so onboard graphics are fine...

But I don't quite understand - can I do this with the motherboard? I mean hackingtosh style?
What output can I have on this motherboard?

All the outputs should work (HDMI 2.0, USB-C to DisplayPort). Everything works in Windows 10 without any hassle. For Mac OS X, I don't know how much work it will take to get them to work. In Mac OS X, I have gotten my HDMI 2.0 port and USB-C port to output video, but not at the same time. I think my DisplayPort worked at one time but not at this moment.

I don't think there is a difference between using the DisplayPort of the GA-170X-UD5 and using a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter on the UD5 TH.

Use RehabMan's CodecCommender.kext in the /Library/Extension folder using KextBeast. See my Gene build description for how to get and install it.

Well, I think I got lucky, for once: on the last message from the 44-page thread you mentioned (which I promised to myself not to read entirely), someone mentioned cleansing the kernel cache. I did that and it seems to work.

I've installed MacOS a few times, this time around when I install on this board(Specifically this board). In Clover it shows everything correctly. But when I hit the installer drive it just gives me a black screen with a X. Would you think this is just a problem with the USB flash drive?

I am having a hard time working within Windows... Oh its so bad... So I need to get MacOS loaded up ASAP!

I've running 4K out from the HDMI on the MB into a Samsung U28E590D. 4K works in both Windows and Mac, but the Mac side side has no 60hz option, just 30hz. On the Windows side, 60hz is an option, but I've found it's unstable. Monitor drops signal ever few seconds (I've tried 2 different HDMI cables including the one that came with eh monitor, not sure if they are the problem or not)

SOLVED: use correct version of Clover Configurator to generate 17,1 SNs.

@jerivalu what is you clock settings, and is your fans running faster at use, and slow at idle?

These files you have attached. Can you explain how I am supposed to use them? Or point me to a reference that explains.
