See post #917 on this thread ... Leonard shared his files. His patched AICPM did mot work for me though so no guarantees with it.

Just the SSDT wont work.
Did you do the bios mod?
You didn't use modded AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext?

Hi, can you write please the steps, settings and kext you've used? i have a z9pa-d8, e5-2670 a 970 and i'm stuck when booting on the "pci configuration begin" or "nvdagm100hal registered", thanks!

Hi Andrea,
I have the same mobo as you (Z9PA-D8 with 2x xeon E5-2670 v1 and a Quadro K2000) to get to the descktop you have to boot with these flags in clover: NPCI=0x3000 (0x2000 also works) and NV_DISABLE=1 unfortunately this way you won't have graphics acceleration.
I'm stuck at that point at the moment, the system works fine although the processor runs at 2,6 Mghz all the time, the number of memory slots are not properly reported (I have 2x4Gb modules, the system reports 8Gb but only sees one out 4 slot occupied -it should show 2 out of 8 slots...)
the ASUS mobo is a bit "special" and I guess I need to modify SDST and SSDT but I've never done that & I'm completely lost in that matter.
Hope this help you

Hi Andrea - I did look at your motherboard and despite it's similarity in name it is a completely different beast than the Z9PE-D8 WS. The WS signifies it's a workstation class board. Your returned board was/is pure server class. The memory types on the server board are different from the WS version which wants the cheaper unbuffered memory. Also the BIOS versions are massively different, the WS being 8mb compared to the server at 4mb.

You may still have issues getting things to fully function on Sandy Bridge CPUs though. I eventually went to v2 processors as i could never get the speed step or turbo working on the sandy bridge v1 chips.

Don't Update to 10.11.5 if you are using the Z9PE-D8 WS. Since that update, I hang on "PCI Configuration Begin" even with npci=0x2000 or npci=0x3000 boot args.

Didn't find a solution for that.
Anyone have a solution?

10.11.5 Working here with no real issues, usual aptiofix issues with clover, as in having to restart a few times and the occasional NIC failure on boot causing a physical one of reset.

Thats strange. Today i updated to 10.11.5... after reboot i got a hang on PCI Configuration start...

Same Config with same boot args did work perfect with 10.11.4.... over months. I dont have any ideas how to get it working again. :(

From what i read about the 10.11.5 update it was mostly security fixes and bug fixes for Apple nvidia drivers and sound cards so i would suggest starting with those. I have not done the DSDT patch for native ALC898 support so if you have applied that it might have something to do with it ... Good luck :)
