USB 3.0 PCIe Cards that work OOB in El Cap

I bought and installed a Inateck KT4006 PCIe card and works OOB. The only interesting thing is that I don't see in the System Profile Report the speed for the USB3 devices connected to the card.

Since 10.11 does not support NEC/Renesas USB3...

Purchased Inateck KTU3FR-5O2I. Also upgraded my case, a Lian LIAN LI PC-B10, with the two-port USB3 top mounted external USB3/audio port.

The KTU3FR-5O2I has 5 USB3 ports rear, and a 15-pin USB3 internal connector for the two top case ports.

So far, it works great both in 10.10 and 10.11.

Side benefit: I now have two USB3 ports easily accessible, so no more reaching toward the back... and a lot more USB3 ports (NEC/Renesas USB3 ports on the DH67GD are limited to 2 rear ports, no internal header).

The configuration is 8 total "ports" seen by 10.11 (4-USB2, 4-USB3). Ports 3 (USB2) and 7 (USB3) are connected to an internal hub, each of which has 4 ports... If you do the math, you'll see there are 14 end points, to account for the 7 USB3 ports (USB2+USB3).

It will extend the life of this 6-series/Sandy i7 system for some time... And now I can update my main partition to 10.11 for everyday use.

I followed your suggestion and purchased the KTU3FR-5O2I as well. It is well recognised both in 10.10 and 10.11, but what I noticed is that the (front) USB3 ports of my case connected to the internal header show up as USB2 hubs on an USB3 bus?!? A connected USB3 stick always connects via USB2...
Looks like I do not achieve USB3 speeds via the connected front ports.

I do not have a real USB3 device at hand so I can´t test for now.

Edit: A wrongly declared USB stick was leading to a wrong conclusion.

Yes, also the same for two of the rear ports. There are three direct ports, and the other four are on a hub. There are both USB3 and USB2 hubs for USB2/USB3.

Obviously, the controller is 4-port USB3 (8 ports total, due to USB3 ports being two ports in one: USB2/USB3), so to accommodate 7 ports, they needed to introduce hubs.

It is mentioned in my post...

USB3 will connect to either the USB3 port, or the USB3 hub.
USB2 sticks will connect to either the USB2 component of the port or to the USB2 hub (depending on the port you use).

If you "do not have a real USB3 device at hand", how can you say "connected USB3 stick always connects via USB2"??

Looking for a bit of help with usb .......
Upgraded to El Cap from a clean Yosemite install .
Could boot into Yosemite fine with only usb 2.0 working .
Since upgrading el capitan boots to log in screen but don't have any usb ports working 2 or 3 ?
Tried front and rear along with various kexts and clover flags.
Still nothing , so cant log in to El Capitan .
Is there a generic fix for usb 2 that will allow me to log in - so I can find a permanent solution?
system > Dell Precision T3610 .Xeon E5 1620V2 , 16gb ECC 1866MHZ Ram , Amd FirePro W7000 Graphics.
renesas usb 3.0 so I understand that's a no go for the moment.

Renesas USB3 not supported, so use supported add-on card...

Sorry for the misleading expression: The device I used is an USB stick that claims to be USB3, but it shows now that the only USB3 part on it seems to be the connector. All other specifications must be USB2 what made it connect to the USB2 hub on the inateck. Nice finding by the way...

Now I managed to get hold of a "real" USB3 card reader and it connects right to the USB3 hub via the internal connectors. Thanks for your recommendation!
