:| sorry for dumb question but... if I get the message on the attached file is only because i don't have the GTX 970 or a Maxwell card plugged-in right?
(I wanted to test drivers before swapping cards...)

Well if you read the message very very carefully, it says that the Mac OS X version you have is not supported by this driver... Guess what, the message is true, this driver (and by extension the Maxwell cards) only work in Yosemite ! It should also have said so in the page where you downloaded them, and it is also written in the title of this thread ;)

nevermind, someone else helped me out already. forgot to deactivate to old nvidia inject in config.plist from clover! :)

Thanks a MILLION, man! You're a life saver! Worked like a charm for my Gigabyte GTX 960 :)

I'm trying to install the driver and it's telling me:

"Mac OS X version is not compatible

Maco OS x version 10.10.2 (14C1514) is required for this update. Please update your OS version and try again."

According to my settings, I currently HAVE 10.10.2, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Can you help?

There are 3 different builds of 10.10.2. Build 14C1514 is with both security updates installed. Open up the App Store and make sure you are completely updated.

You probably just need to change your system profile to something like an iMac14,2

It was my understanding that these drivers required a Mac Pro system definition ?
Yes, I use Mac Pro 3,1 to be on the safe side. The MP3,1 uses the same type of memory our hacks use - non ECC. The MP4,1/5,1 use ECC memory, and there is a kext you have to remove to use these two System Definitions.

The driver installer checks for those three system definitions but the drivers run just fine with other definitions once installed and a Mac Pro definition is not required. They also update without checking for those system definitions. See my post about Solving NVIDIA driver install problems if you want to get around installing them on a different system definition.
