X58 and OS X El Capitan? (X58A-UD3r)

How do you do the settings in step 4 and 5?

Actually I spoke too soon...I had succes in installing EL CAPITAN but it will not boot, Clover cannot even see the system partitions, even my pre-existing Yosemite partion. I tried to boot using enoch version of chameleon installed on Yosemite partion but nothing, doesn't work...El capitan is there installed though

OK retested the X58A-UD3R with the following observations/results:

1. Format the USB Master Boot Record not GUID or boot0af error
2. Clover Legacy Boot Mode must be used
3. USB 2.0 port must be used- try different ones
4. Standard Legacy Boot Mode UniBeast ACPI fixes: FixHPET FixDTGP
5. Additional ACPI fixes: FixDarwin FixIPIC AddMCHC FixUSB

Thanks Tony, I've got El Capitan installed! Replacing the config.plist on my USB install stick with the one in post #17 got the El Capitan install process to work without kernel panicking. Installed, then it reboots, then boot off my USB stick again and select boot from El Capitan (my new install), as the instructions say to do. That all works.

But for the post-installation instructions, I'm stuck. I've discovered that Clover installs to an EFI folder on my El Capitan drive, and not into the hidden EFI partition. Seems like this is a common problem, but I don't know how to fix it (searching that now).

Tried running the audio_cloverALC-110 script, but it fails with these errors (terminal output attached).

Thanks for all the help, very close!

UPDATE: It looked to me like the ALC script is failing because of the space in the volume name "El Capitan"...so I renamed my system drive to "elcap", and got a little further. Looks like it's failing now because Clover isn't installed to the EFI partition, as described above.

Guys with Native USB problems, check the AppleUSBXHCIPCI kext inside of IOUSBHostFamily to see how it knows to load that driver for the SMBios you are using, because that stuff matters now. That should give you a little insight on how to tweak your DSDT. I don't know if that will be 100% your solution but there are other discussions around here with instructions from Rehabman, and you should be checking those out to see if they can be helpful.

Hey guys, I was getting a restart every time the installer was about to load the graphics. So I injected EDID and nvidia and the El Cap installer loaded. I have a GTX 480. I used no extra boot flags. 15 mins left on installation... I will let you know if I have any other tips.

Hey guy before I quit because I did a special Thread onmy mobo , I have one last question maybe it is off topic but I did not find the answer.

Are Chimera or Chamaleon dismissed? Is Clover the only bootloader available for the future release of OSX or maybe Chimera team is still working on a workaround for El Captain?

Wish you good luck for your mobo , I'm sure you will fix it because there is a lot of people working on it.

Peace

These are the steps I used. Ill include a zip of the files i used also. I had to disable usb 3.0 cause mines keep hanging.I have a X58A-UD3r v3 FH. I used the Clover OS X El Capitan-V5 post install to install my audio and internet FakeSMC and also for bootloader I selected Clover esp

I will try this out!

I get El Capitan to install, but I cannot use my Apple ID.

Also, the moded plist, perhaps, says my setup is a macbook pro! =) LOL!!! Never saw a macbook pro the size of a dual cpu tower before!

But I will try this and some mods to the plist out to see what I can do. If all goes well, I can post a how to for dual X58 platforms.

GUID for me
