Wrong CPU speed. It's too high?!

Hi All,

wondering if anyone can help?

My CPU is intel i5 3.4GHz but "About my mac" and HWMonitor show it to be 3.7GHz! :S
I think everything in the BIOS is ok so I'm a little confused why this is reading the wrong number.

Here are my results from bdmesg. I don't totally know what I'm looking at though other than its got the right brand string.

Ah ok haha, forgive me for sounding a bit dumb. :S I take it then that the 'about my mac' and HWMonitor are both showing the turbo speeds and not the base clock speeds.

I noticed that my "About this mac" said 3.4Ghz at first, but then after setting the XMP in bios to load profile 1, after that it said 3.7Ghz. Maybe it is getting the cpu speed from the memory multiplier?

So basically it showed correct when memory was running at 1333, but when using the XMP profile, memory runs at 1866, and it shows 3.7Ghz. Could be what is happening to with your Crucial 1866 memory?
