Not sure how that would be related to boot.plist items.

Might be since you were using the pre-cached kernel before. Add back in:

<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>Yes</string>

Just got it working using the flag. Is working again now.

going to try changing the definition next.

Geekbench score is now 300 points lower.

Worth a try...I sometimes get slightly higher with 12,2 but it varies with different setups. More importantly, are you getting more pstates?

Nope still only two, have also lost my temp sensors for my cpu in istat as well now.

I get 16 and 34 and that's it. just trying Mac Pro5,1 to see if there is any difference there as well. If not will go back to 3,1 i think
