WIFI all the sudden won't detect networks

Create a Linux 'live' USB.



Go slow. Press button once. Wait. Test. Press button again. Wait. Test.

Also check that you have it enabled in BIOS!

I was unable to use the wifi button successfully in Yosemite but then I created a Mint Linux USB Live boot using Pendrive to boot into Mint Linux. I pushed the wifi button and the wifi switched on--could see all networks. I (removed the Mint Linux Live boot USB) rebooted into Yosemite and the Wifi was on. Don't understand why this is the case, maybe you do.
