Hi there,

I read a few hours complaints about the AR9380 inside of the WDN4800. The main problem is, that nobody ever got the 5 Ghz band working (if I'am missing someone pls post a link). I tried for myself patching my DSDT with the patch from toleda (https://github.com/toleda/wireless_...15b17fff92263/Patches/arpt1-ar928x-ar9380.txt) but still it just wont work. 5 Ghz Wifis arent showing up after all... Several other threads and also the main thread about the card on this site dont find any kind of solution (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...vision-1-3-pcie-wifi-card-os-x-10-9-4.136321/ :: despite the threads name, nobody there got 5 Ghz working).

So why is this card still the only one suggested to buy?!

Cheers

I've got the TP-Link WDN4800 and the Rosewill clone working just fine at 5GHz on two of my older systems. Your router may be set to use a 5GHz channel that isn't supported by the WDN4800. IIRC, I had to change one of my routers to a different change. So, bottom line, tweak your router.

This is the successor to the WDN-4800 model from TP-Link. The T8E has been in the Buyer's Guide for over a year now. Wireless AC speeds up to 1300 Mbps. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RL4A314/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

2.4 and 5GHz bands should work OOB with macOS Sierra. Not sure how good the Win10 drivers are so research that some to find out if you will dual boot with Windows 10. There is a T9E version that is even newer and faster but I don't believe you need to spend the extra money for it unless you get better than 1Gb ethernet speeds from your ISP.

The Wi-Fi system report in post # 6 was displayed on a 7th Gen. (i5 7500 | H270M board | HS 10.13.0 system. No longer have this system - sorry can't help you on this. Might want to check if this Wi-Fi card is fully supported in Mojave.
