Hi guys

I'm trying to get this to work and I'm having a pretty tough time. Apparently you can connect two real macs via thunderbolt or you can use an imac with a miniDP connector and enable the macbook or imac as a 2nd monitor.

I tried connecting via thunderbolt, but my computer isn't recognizing the MacBook, and the MacBook isn't recognizing my hack. I also bought a miniDP to full size DP converter from Frys, connected the large displayport to my 2nd monitor out on my GTX 980, and the mini end to my MacBook, still no screen sharing.

Has anyone got this to work?

Thanks

No this can't work. You mean the "Target Display Mode" which is only working with real iMacs. This dont work with MacBooks. You can only connect an MacBook or every other supported device ( Mac mini, Mac Pro and PCs with displayport output ) to an iMac. Not vice versa.

The only option I can think of is a program called AirServer. It turns any Mac or PC into an AirPlay receiver. Downfall is that it is a bit laggy.
