For your 8 series board this should work :

Download https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-fake-pci-id/downloads/RehabMan-FakePCIID-2015-1101.zip

In Finder navigate to Downloads and open the folder : RehabMan-FakePCIID-2015-1101
Open the folder : Release
Copy FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext to your Desktop

Make sure that you do not have any other kexts on your Desktop.

Download KextBeast

Run KextBeast
Choose the option to install to /Library/Extensions.

When KextBeast has completed close it and open Terminal.

Paste this into the Terminal window :
Code:
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /
Press Return and then enter your password at the prompt (it will not show on screen) and press Return.

When it has finished you can Restart your computer.

When it restarts press the spacebar then select the option to : Boot Mac OS X without caches.

Check USB ports.

I am happy to report that my System is fully functional .USB3 is working with the FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext
installed in L/E.
My problem was so stupid that i'm embarrassed to admit it...
I have two different drives (one with Yosemite/clover and the other with El Capitan/clover) and i was booting into El Capitan from the one with Yosemite/clover with a different config.plist...
Thank to everybody for their help! I'm learning as i go..:)

You are a champion! Works for my X97 UHD5 as well, only had usb 2.0 support at all ports before

Followed all procedure detailed.

Occurrences:
1. 2nd reboot: system reached apple logo and then restarted itself
2. Tested a USB2 device, system hanged and rebooted.
3. Rebooted the system 3 more times without starting any programs.

Seems to be working fine now. The USB3 ports are reporting 5Gb/s instead of 480mb/s.

Watch and see if system stays stable.

Thanks very much.

I love you man (and Rehabman too). Clear, simple instructions. Worked perfectly.
At first I was trying to decipher the post from the first link given in this thread, but it gave me a headache after the 1428th paragraph.
Then I stumbled on your post, gave it go, and BOOM ! USB3 fully functional.

Thank you !

P.S: had a mini-heart attack when completed the KextBeast step. Mouse and keyboard stopped working for 3-5 seconds, but I guess it's because of configuration update.

My rear USB 3.0 stopped working.
Yesterday all works fine and today nothing.
What's happened?
Same mobo: GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD7 TH
I've reinstalled USB kexts from multibeast and kexts from bitbucket. Nothing.
Front USB 3.0 works fine.

After installing the 2 kexts only, USB ports stopped working at all. No more mouse and keyboard. Z97X-UD5H. Everything was fine after UniBeast and MultiBeast 8.0, except USB 3.0 and sleep mode.

same mobo and same problem here, did you find any solution?

Furthermore I had to install the two kexts manually cause multibeast gives me install error any kext I try to install

Also using the GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD7 TH board. Installed the two kexts. Front panel USB3 working great. Back panel all reporting as USB2.0. Any ideas on how to fix it (please go easy on me, not very tech savvy - yes, this was a bad move on my part as I am not qualified for this :D- unfortunately, invested tons of $$...so...). Thanks!
