You just want to put the FileNVRAM.dylib in the /Extra/modules folder:thumbup:
Then, reboot, and, upon reaching the Chimera screen:
  • Tap the Spacebar on the keyboard to stop the automatic load;
  • Select your OS X disk/partition (if you have more than one) with the keyboard arrow key;
  • Tab the Spacebar again and type in "UseKernelCache=No"; and
  • Hit the Return key to boot into OS X.

Absolutely.... this weekend for sure!
Now onto fixing the 892 audio...

Everything is looking great but I was curious as to what level of fan speed control we have with this motherboard and OSX. I would like to see what you and other folks are doing to make your system quieter.

You can manage Fan control from the Motherboard BIOS itself. What I have in the NZXT H2 Silent case is a fan control switch. More information on that here http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/103-h2-case
I have the two front fans and the rear out take fan connected to the fan controller.

Also from my build description you will see that I bought the i7-4770k without a CPU cooler. Thats because I used an aftermarket CPU cooler that is also pretty quiet. There are some great fans on the market that are designed to be silent that doesn't cost much. As for the stock CPU that comes with the processor, I find them a lot louder. But most importantly it is about keeping your system cool.

Hi and welcome to the tonymacx86 Forums.

Make sure that your Graphics card is not installed and install with your integrated graphics, Take a look at my BIOS settings in Post #1. Ensure that you have Initial First Display set to IGFX. To reach the installer at the Chimera Boot screen type in -x (safe mode).

wildwillow, have you fixed the USB charge for our mobo ? I can't charge my ipad cause USB ports provide only 500 mAh. There is a fix for DSDT:

but I can't find a valid DSDT for the mb. I tried to retrieve it directly from the hardware but there is plenty of errros while compiling even the "fresh" one. Any ideas maybe ?

wildwillow's Haswell Build: GA-Z87X-OC - i7-4770K - HD4600+GT 640

Hi, I have almost the exact same build, however i am having the same problem as theboy995, i also have the ssd 840 256gb.
Installing osx 10.8.5 using unibeast.

I am running the Z87X-OC, 4770k, 16gb ram and trying to get things running without a gfx card. I have all the bios settings the same as per the guide. My bios looks newer however, maybe this has something to do with it.

My problem is the boot hangs at apple logo. when using -v it hangs at "missing bluetooth controller transport"

It can boot using -x, have installed multibeast using same options as per guide, same issue.

If anyone can offer some advise that would be appreciated.
