I solved it by adding PCIRootUID=1 to the boot parameters

What is the rest of your setup? It looks like we have a similar setup. I have the same MoBo, i7 and ram. However, I tried adding PCIRootUID=1 -x -v and I still get "Stil waiting for root device".

I have the i7 2600k build here: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/search/label/CustoMac
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3
CPU : Intel i7 2600k
Video Card : Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870
RAM : 16GB Corsair Vengence (4x4gb sticks) (I only have 1 stick in right now)
Hard Drive : Crucial 64gb m4 SSD
OS : Lion 10.7.2 from the app store

I found the solution to make it work on my Asus K53SV laptop.

Use flags: PCIRootUID=0 -x -v.

DO NOT use PCIRootUID=1

That would produce the still waiting for root device error if you use PCIRootUID=1.

Just for information, PCIRootUID=1 is set by default on the unibeast stick ;)

Hi!

Have had the same problem for a long time finally I found the problem it works when I put the USB stick with unibeast in the USB 2.0 port on the motherboard!
Even the keyboard and mouse have to be on that port!
Work like a sharm woth only -v
Still have to get the audio to work ;)

Running GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 with 4GB and a 2TB disk 500MB partition
Core i3

Hey guys,

Have you figured out the problem?
I'm still waiting for the root device..... :(((

Tried PCI flags - 0 and 1
BIOS is set up as per guide....

nothing

tried different usb ports....

nothing

please help if u can

Hi,

same problem here...

Asus A54 C-SO255V
Prozessor: Intel® Core™ i3-2350M Processor (2,3 GHz, 3 MB Intel® Smart-Cache)
Chipsatz: Intel HM65
Grafikkarte : Intel HD 3000
Netzwerkkarte: Atheros AR8151
W-Lan: Atheros AR9285
Arbeitsspeicher: DDR 1333 Mhz 4GB

Still waiting for root device error can occur because the appropriate Sata or USB driver isn’t being loaded
