For what ever reason, unibeast always tells me time for installation less than a minute (right after starting) and is finished just 3 or 4 minutes later. After that, the maverick install app just shows 20 MB and nothing else?? Whats wrong here?
The less than a minute is the time for the install of apps, folders, and bootloader from the Unibeast installer which occurs before it accesses the InstallESD.dmg file for copying the installer files. This file is approximately 5.29 GB but after it is copied, if accessible, it will be slight over 6Gb around 6.03. The timer does not reflect copy time, and it takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, depending on the media (flash drive). I used a fast USB 3.0 flash drive. If you have Istat menu's you can expand the hard drive section down, during the copying, and you will see a load bar for the usb flash drive, and amount of files copied to drive, as they occur, rather than waiting and hoping, as the Unibeast load bar does not move until the copy is completed, without a countdown or estimate of amount of file copied to drive in real-time. If you do not see a Mavericks installer icon on your flash drive after completion your down-load is most likely corrupt, or the Flash drive is not prepared properly, or its capacity is too small. It needs to be 8GB's minimum. You can check the SHA-1 or MD5 of the installesd.dmg by using a App you can get from the App store called Hashtab. Or you can use Terminal for free. See my previous post here for the SHA-1 value for checking for down-load corruption. This should be done before using Unibeast. to create installer.

Awesome guide, pretty much all I need for my upcoming Haswell build :)

Sorry to be a complete noob though, but in the Mavericks requirements it said you already need a working Mac. Does this mean I cannot use this to do a clean install on new computer build that isn't a Hackintosh yet? :s

Well you need a working Mac/Hackintosh in order to download Mavericks, set up your USB drive with disk utility, run Unibeast and create the bootable USB installation drive. If you already have a working Mac then you can create the drive and then install it on a PC.

If you've already created your bootable USB installation drive then go ahead and install Mavericks on your new PC.

Thanks for the guide!

Reporting from my GA-Z77-D3H Hackintosh, running OS X Mavericks, installation was straightforward and flawless, everything working properly and my system feels a bit faster, boot up was 10 seconds only (15-18 on 10.8.4)!!!

Any additional steps if doing a Mavericks installation on a dual boot system? Currently running Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and Windows 7 on separate solid state hard drives on a GA-G77X-UD5H motherboard, i7-3770.

I would remove the drive containing Windows 7 before I installed, just in case. I was able to upgrade to Mavericks from Lion with no problems, and I had Windows 7 on the same drive. It did not mess up my Windows partition, nor did I lose any of my files and applications on OSX.
