Are there any tips, I'm running Mavericks and I have used Multibeast 6.0 and I'm still not able to use iMessage (existing account)?! The serial number validates on the Apple site.

Forget the UUID, but if you could use the facetime, iclound, appstore, just reset your Apple ID password, and then the imessage can work.

I tried all the methods here as well, no go. What finally worked for me was something different than what has been suggested from everyone else. It is rather simple to.

I tried FileNVRAM.dylib .2 and .3 .. I don't believe you actually even need these with the new Chimera on Mavericks. The problem exists on Apple's end in regards to registering your machine properly to imessage. after you reinstall several times it just gets confused it seems. I was popping up contact support and unable to activate with account errors for over 2 days of playing around.

What Worked (for me):

You need a real mac to do this, or at least a mac that can log into imessage successfully.

1. open imessage, then go to: Messages>Preferences>Accounts
2. click on your iMessage account (on left column)
3. on the right column select details (under sign out)
4. sign into your iMessage Account Details with your password and hit View Account.
5. re-enter your password and then re-enter it again to verify (you can use your same password)
6. hit save.

It appears this will reset your iMessage account information on apple's end and wipe out any devices that it may be confused with. The only bad thing is that you will need to re-enter your password on your "i" devices to log back into and register them with the iMessage service. not a big deal.

I run without FileNVRAM now and iMessage works fine. took me days to figure this trick out.

Let me know if this works for you, would be curious if this is the actual fix to the problem.

#1 Biggest issue I've seen on hackintoshes is a non-unique serial number, for a machine that actually matches what your SMBIOS is. Without that you will have trouble with iMessages, App Store, iCloud, etc. Yet so many people DO not have this done.

I have a G8040-something serial number, where does it get this from?

Is it possible to generate a serial from my Mainboard Serial f.ex?

I have tried every method in this thread and many others (which all seem to be the same or a slight variation) at least 3 times and I can not login to facetime, imessage or app store.

I have also tried to reset my keychain and still nothing.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hoping this will help someone else with iMessage failures.I built 2 different Customac’s. The first on is my personal desktop. It’s awesome but I started with Mountian Lion and could never get iMessage to work but I really didn’t try that hard.
I built another Customac for a friend of mine that is on a fixed income. The Poor Mans Customac. I started trouble shooting iMessage so that we could use it. He is new to the Apple operating system so I need to teach him how to use it.
I followed all the instructions from jaymonkey.

I checked ethernet was en0, cleared all my cash files, and used Chameleon Wizard to generate a usable Device ID and replaced my FileNVRAM.dylib. I tried the newer version and restarted.
No dice, still couldn’t log in. So I tried the older version of FileNVRAM.dylib. It worked like a charm. I had to make sure I was signed out of all other Apple devices, logged into iMessage on Customac and then I could log back into my other devices.

What is important is that my Apple ID has a credit card on file.

I did the same thing on my Friend’s Customac. I received a different error when trying to log into iMessage. Its also important to let you know that I had to use the newer version of FileNVRAM.dylib on his computer.
The error I received on his iMessage was "You Apple ID cannot be used to setup iMessage" Blah Blah Blah.
His Apple ID did not have a credit card on file.
I went to the Apple site to manage Apple ID.
https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
1. Clicked on Manage ID, login.
2. On the left pane hit Password and Security
3. Answer your security questions
4. The next page has two step verification click get started
5. Click the button at the bottom that says no thanks.
THAT WORKED.
Because his account was setup without a credit card I had to turn off the second step in the two step verification process.
Sorry this is so long but if you follow all the steps it should work. It took me a while to figure all of this out but it was worth it.
Little note: both machines are running Mavericks.

I did try my method again and it required me to change the password. The first time I did my method it didn't. No idea why I was able to use the same password the first time. Also, after doing a clean install I had to reinstall using version x.x.2 of FileNVRAM.dylib. Using FileNVRAM.dylib x.x.3 was problematic.
