Hi,

my specs are:

  • Toshiba Portege Z830-S8302
  • Corei7-2677M (Sandy Bridge)
  • HD Graphics 3000 Mobile Intel® QM67 or HM65 Express Chipset with AMT 7.0
  • RAM 6GB
  • HD SD THNSNB128GMCJ

Trying to install Yosemite from USB stick as per the Installation Guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/445-unibeast-install-os-x-yosemite-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html
Using Unibeast 5.0.2

I never reach the installer:
From the grey screen with the Apple logo when the track bar is around 20% load the laptop screen goes blank.
The same happens when using the -v flag, the one before the last line that i can read mentions something about Bluetooth.
When the screen is blank the hard drive activity led light remains on, Caps Lock indicator appears functional when the key is pressed, Keyboard Backlight is as well functional.

I have tried
-x GraphicsEnabler=Yes
-x GraphicsEnabler=YES PCIRootUID=1
-x GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1 maxmem=4096 npci=0x2000

What else can I do?
Thanks,
om

Read the sticky threads here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/

Hint: All the flags you're using are wrong, and you haven't provided enough details on your hardware.

Thanks after reading the sticky guide I got further.

Now Yosemite is running, display is through a HDMI connected monitor, network through ethernet port.

Here are my MultiBeast settings:

Switched from EasyBeast to DSDT Free:
....
Drivers > Graphics > Intel Graphics Patch for Mixed ConfigurationsDrivers

Why? The system in your profile is not "mixed."

> Misc > ElliottForceLegacyRTC
Drivers > Misc > EvOreboot

It is unlikely you need either of these.

...
Customize > Boot Options > Generate CPU States
Customize > System Definitions > MacBook Pro > MacBook Pro 8,1Customize > SSDT Options > Sandy Bridge Core i7

Those two options don't make sense together. And Desktop SSDTs don't work on laptops.

Read here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/146870-guide-native-power-management-laptops.html

I still need help with:
- LVDS Laptop Monitor: Remains blank

See above comment regarding the "mixed" intel patch you erroneously applied.

- Wireless Adapter: Undetected
- Bluetooth: Undetected

WiFi: Depends on having compatible hardware. Use DPCIManager->PCI List to find out what you have. Compatible chipsets and the procedures for making them work are covered here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2.html

- Sound: Undetected

Audio: Best result with patched AppleHDA. Google 'patch AppleHDA guide'. Search for suitable AppleHDA or patch it yourself. Apply appropriate DSDT patches.

DSDT patches you need for AppleHDA: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
Apply: "Audio Layout 12" (change layout-id from 12 to the layout-id used by the patched AppleHDA)
Apply: "IRQ Fix"

Determine layout-id from patched AppleHDA.kext:

First you need to know your codec id in decimal. Then look in the Info.plist for AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext (in PlugIns), find your codec id under HDAConfigDefault (there may be many entries in a sloppy patched AppleHDA or only one). The LayoutID that matches your codec id is the layout id you need.

- Video Camera: undetected

Could be USB issue... check for camera in "System Information"

Thanks RehabMan!

- Taking out the Intel Graphics Patch for Mixed Configurations finally allowed for full res over HDMI, and upon restart with disconnected HDMI the LVDS Monitor came to live!

- Next most important thing wireless: After downloading the DPCIManager I found out this:
Toshiba Z830-S8302 DPCI Manager PCI-List.png
My network card is an Intel Centrino 6230 , Device Id 0091, which does not appear on the supported list.
Apparently the solution here is to get a Nano USB Wireless Adapter , I'm going to get this one Panda Ultra Wireless N USB, unless there is a better recommendation.

USB WiFi should be avoided if possible. Better results with a supported PCIe WiFi.

Ok,
looking at the supported PCIE cards looks like the ideal would be the BCM4360 but I'm not sure it will work with my laptop and keep the possibility open of falling back to Linux or Windows, so Im tilting towards the Azurewave AW-CE123H 802.11ac/nbg WiFi+BT PCI Express Module Broadcom BCM4352 / Bluetooth 4.0+3.0 HS Class II

That BCM4352 has really come down in price...

As far as your specific laptop, you never know until you try (it may implement a whitelist).
